I moved to EV speakers this year; I'm not rocking EKX as I didn't have the budget at the time. Went for a pair of ELX200-12 for tops, and a pair of ELX200-18 subs, both passives as I already had amplifiers. The speakers I had before didn't totally suck, but damn these ELXs are impressive, they sound amazing regardless of volume, and they really throw too. Might go EKX when budget allows, but so far I'm really happy with my investment.

Amazing sound 👌 I'm looking into getting the EV Ext 15p. Have you tested these with lifting and carting around? How do you find lugging your 35p around? Are they heavy to lift on the poles?
@DJRachelLynch5 ай бұрын
Thanks! It’s a great speaker! I love them! They’re exactly how you think they’d be to move around a 95lbs speaker. 😂 LOL All jokes aside it’s a very loud and clean speaker, but I only use them when absolutely necessary. They are a hassle to move around (at least for me). But if you need something for large events, these are the ticket!
@elementearth5 ай бұрын
Haha! Oh definitely! 😆 Can you lift them yourself on the pole? The EV Etx 15p is 59lbs I'm not sure how I will be lifting them on my own to a pole. Have you looked into the 15p?

Great video! How was it lifting those 35Ps up on the poles??? Those weigh like 100 lbs. each!

They are 84.2 LBS each. 😅 I definitely asked for help. I can lift the speaker but at that height it makes it challenging.

How you set up the top speakers. I usually need 2 sub for each of the tops and I’m using ETX-15p. I never try to run the tops in full range because I’m scared to have conflicts with the frequency and have subs Cancellation effect.
@DJRachelLynch Жыл бұрын
If you're using a sub you should go to your DSP and run them with they external sub setting. This takes some of the workload off the top and let’s the sub do what they were designed to do.

Nice gig log. I'm curious how your equipment, more specifically your laptop, holds up with the temp being as hot at as it was? Also what you utilize if anything to keep your laptop cool.
@DJRachelLynch3 жыл бұрын
The Infinity L (DJ booth) has a vented laptop try to encourage cooling. I use a gaming computer where the fans are on the back and not underneath, keeping the fans clean from dust is very important. I want them to work as efficiently as possible. I seek out shade where I can or use a small fan to generate a cross breeze.

Hi, How many people do you thing the 30 M's can handle for an outdoor venue for dancing? Just bought a couple and wanted to know since you have a lot of experience with them. Thank you
@DJRachelLynch3 жыл бұрын
Truthfully there’s so much more to consider then “how many people.” There are many other factors that determine whether a speaker is appropriate or not. For example… How large of an area are you trying to cover? What is the sound expectation of the client? Do you just need a PA? Are you playing bangers for high school kids who want big sound or is this a corporate holiday party where it’s more social? What’s your sound objective? Do you just need to hear the music or do you need to feel the music? There is a big difference. In short, it’s hard to make this call without knowing who and what you’re playing for. Keep in mind this is only a 10 inch sub. It’s a fantastic speaker but it’s important to know it’s limits. 🙂
@2332gregor3 жыл бұрын
@@DJRachelLynch Thank you for your prompt reply. You have given me a lot to consider and also my apologies for not being more specific. I mainly play for people in their 40's and 50's, so I don't need them to feel the music just hear it loud enough to create a nice hot spot on the dance floor. I'm Djing mainly as a hobby for friends and relatives now. Mainly back yard parties and small halls. Also small crowd never more than 50 or 60 people.
@DJRachelLynch3 жыл бұрын
@@2332gregor I will always encourage people interested in EV Evolve series to go with the EV50. I believe that a working DJ doing events with “dancing” should have at least a 12 inch sub. Also, there is a noticeable SPL (loudness) difference in the 50 versus the 30M. Also, the 30M’s mixer wouldn’t be utilized for the use you speak of. I feel you’d be constantly pushing the limits of the 30M. The 50 will give you more headroom and flexibility.
@2332gregor3 жыл бұрын
@@DJRachelLynch I guess I'll just use them for home use and for day time bbq's, I got a great deal on them so I can't complain. For now I'll just keep on using my Alto speakers and subs. Thanks again for all the great advice. And btw I love your positive good vibes and energy in all your videos! Looking forward to seeing your new content.
@DJRachelLynch3 жыл бұрын
@@2332gregor definitely use them if they “fit” the event. I’m not saying leave them at home! They are a fantastic speaker. I use them mainly for my ceremony, cocktail hour, or filler soakers. Just stressing the point as a 10” sub the speaker does have its limits with larger “dancing parties.” I’d probably use these as a main setup for crowds no larger than 50/60 people.

Hello. I want to buy EV acoustics. I interested to buy 2 pcs ETX35P and 2 pcs subs ETX18SP. I want to buy EV ASP-58 poles. I want to screw this poles in subwoofers and than put on speakers. The acoustics seller says that it’s not possible because it won’t support the weight? Will this stand be able to support the given weight of the speaker?
@DJRachelLynch11 ай бұрын
With all due respect, the “seller” is misinformed. A simple review of the specs will demonstrate they are fine to use with the ETX 35P tops. Electro-Voice ASP-58- Height-Adjustable Steel Subwoofer Pole Ideal for ETX and EKX Subwoofers with 100 lb Weight Capacity. The ASP-58 is compatible with EV's ETX, EKX, or any subwoofer with an M20 threaded mounting plate. The ETX 35P only weighs 82lbs. I’ve used them together countless times.

@@DJRachelLynch thank you very much for your answer. Now I will know. Tell me, maybe you know such a poles model as PCL880 or PCL35? Same models for different countries only. I just can’t find on the Internet how much weight they can withstand. Made by Electro-Voice and Dynaсord. Maybe you've heard about these poles? Or is it better to overpay and buy then ASP-58?
