why doesn't anyone ever use a lid on their pots for these boil tests?? It makes a huge difference!

I have a 300 watt electric kettle I recently bought to boil water for coffee when traveling. Got it from Amazon.

I have the same one, I use it when I’m in a hotel to make my coffee in my Sea to Summit pot or reheat food. Very practical for this purpose and is good to know that in a pinch I can use my Bluetti to boil water for rehydrating meals etc while camping since I also have solar panels. Good video and thanks.

I was actually very skeptical about the “500 watt” claim for this hot plate. It seems too low of a number. Usually hot plates pull 1k watts. But thank you for showing this is actually pulling under the specified 500 watts. I have a Bluetii brand power station that can pull 600 watts max so this hot plate will be perfect!

500 watts is more than enough in most cases - for 40 yrs I used a hot plate that was around 450 watts that was made in 1910 or so - it finally quit and I replaced it with a 500 watt -

It took me 30 mins to boil a larger amount of water for pasta... not really so useful for actual cooking.

@@motivation-nova yeah and I’ve come to learn that the EB3A is not really powerful enough to boil a lot of water for a meal. I have a video on my channel showing it.

@@motivation-nova You would use this for bringing cans of soup or small things to a boil, definitely not a full big pasta.

cool I just ordered one . We have a signle indiuction for our power station but you cant use the standard ridge monkey or ally pans on it and its cheaper to buy this little stove than to buy new pots and ridgemonkey.

dude this is sick! lol I enjoy these unboxing reviews you do. so seems you can drain this to 60% when cooking something. makes me wonder with solar panels it will keep it 90% to 100% after ea cooking session
@CoolEyeColorado
@CoolEyeColorado 2 жыл бұрын
Yea so cooking something may take the Jackery down about 10-15% is what i estimate....but with the Jackery hooked to the solar panel it should charge back up over the day. I was worried the little stove would be too much for the Jackery, but it seems to work just fine at high temp. I wont make a whole thanksgiving dinner with this stove, but good enough for oatmeal or pasta!

@@CoolEyeColorado I have a smaler power station with about 300W to 400W output. Is this wheel on the plate like 1=100W, 2=200W, 3=300W and so on? Would you test it please? This would be grate! Thank you.

How hot does it get? 475°- 500°¿ That'll get you some hot water, heat up an iron skillet long enough to cook one side of your egg, and flip it over take it off the burner, turn that off, and let the hot iron continue to cook your eggs for you, while you butter your bread you're about to toast/grill in the "arn skillit".

i have one of these and it also has a dent in it in almost exactly the same area as yours. i wonder if that's due to a defect in the manufacturer's tooling and is not shipping damage?

I’ve had to use an electric stove while camping during “burn bans” (no open flames.) But my 2000 watt gas generator has a lot more juice than that Jackery. And using an electric stove for long trips isn’t very ideal

@CoolEyeColorado
@CoolEyeColorado 2 жыл бұрын
I would say it stopped a little after about the 3rd use. I smell it a little when i first heat it up. After that maybe I am just used to it and dont smell it.

For next buyers: To expel the chemical smell just remove the grease residual from the internal of the metal cover. Exactly this grease is the source of the smell and sometimes the smoke. Screw out the one nut on the bottom, open the device, and wipe out the inside of the cover.

Since it’s a hot plate, if I use a 200w, it would still work but at lower temperature right? My power station won’t trip.

200 watts is to low for any cooking - in most cases about the lowest you can get by with is 350 watts -
@MichaelEricMenk
@MichaelEricMenk Жыл бұрын
No, newer hot plates (last 30 years) use a temperature sensor, and toggles on and off, in this case it will switch between 0 and 500W.

Very inefficient heating. My Bluetti EB70 Solar Generator is actually capable of cooking with a full size Instant Pot Duo. The key is the sealing under pressure after the initial 5 minute heat up and then power use is very little.
