I have the option of buying a Chinese apple car play upgrade for 280 module or Bimmertech has a module for almost 3 times the price at 780 & they remotely update my radio or flash it. What would you do since this is the only option I have for my 2019 Mini F60.

If I were you I’d install it myself, if you have the knowledge about what to do and how to remove the interior parts then it’s a doddle to do, plus you gain the knowledge and can help others. I’m not overly sure how the LCI iDrive system differs from the pre LCI so there may be some additional steps you’d need to take

@@BenRolfe they are both modules I have to buy. One is from china at 280 and the other from bummer tech is also a module that I have to install the same way but once everything is installed I have to connect remotely because it requires Coding" after the install is done which cost 780. What would you do in your honest opinion. Go the cheaper route or more expensive route?

Hey! It’s not an issue. The manufacturer changed the orientation in which they turn on and off. I’m not sure if yours is the new version or the ones which go the other way.

I got them for Christmas so guessing they are the new ones where like you’ve said they’ve changed the orientation; I’m guessing that’s just the way they are then?

Hey Ben, I ordered this lights, no errors so far. However, when i start my car these lights blink like 5 times and then stop. Does yours do the same?

Hey 👋 yeah, mine do them too. It’s the ECU running checks to see if any bulbs are burnt out. Completed normal with these. I guess you could put some form of inline resistor in its place to stop it.

Dixieddawg correct, the updated version which is the one I have sweep from front to back and the older version swept the other way, or vice versa

The original bulbs are NOT halogen. I have some coming from eBay which cost £22 although I have seen some today for just under £16.

@@BenRolfe so is the dreaded door issue rubbing away the paint in door frames and wearing away the rubber door seals on my 2015 3 door Cooper S,BMW should recall them all and sort it,maybe the 12 year paint warranty will cover it seeing's BMW do not think it's an issue keep an eye on your newer car for it.
