Quick test drive of a Chili red Mini JCW R53.
A friend of mine just gave me his car for a test drive, to see the differences between my Cooper s and his John cooper works tuning kit Mini...

I am a Mopar guy to the core my nick name is even Mopar....but I always really liked one other car brand and that's mini Cooper and this is a freaking mini cooper on steroids and I love it :-))

Oddly enough, the early cars used a Euro-spec version of the Neon motor (shrunk down from 2 Liters to 1.6)

Does this beautiful car have mods on it? Like: Smaller or bigger supercharger pulley custom exhaust or somethings like that? I'm planning to buy an R53 as my first car and I like this sound very much!

Hey guys i have the jcw kit model but i wanted to hear more whining sound so i decided to change the air intake ~ will this cause problem for my Jcw?

great video, I have a stock r53 which I love to bits but the exhaust is blowing and I need a new one. thing is I don't want the lout roar in the cabin on the motor way, Is the exhaust on your the standard jcw exhaust? if so I love that it doesn't have the roar in the cabin at cruising speeds like the after market stainless steel ones do. how does the jcw exhaust manage that?

+magicalrobster Hi, this Mini is 100% stock Jcw, the sound with the stock Jcw exhaust is good but not intrusive, I think the front resonator after the kat does the difference compared to the other aftermarket exhausts. Some people remove it and replace it with a straight pipe and I would too because inside the car the sound is barely louder than the stock R53 exhaust, even outside does a good deep sound but is a little bit too much quite, wich is fine if you have a Jcw kit from factory , but if you're planning to buy the exhaust separately,well, you might be disappointed with its quiteness 😁

+Huskyeleven I love the stock sound the most, I find the after market ones just make noise for the he'll of it. I'm going for a stock exhaust on mine as I finally found one for a good price, yours sounds superb just the way it is.

Seen in your other comments you have a non works r53 yourself, what is mpg like? I'm looking at buying one but apparently it's quite bad

R53s are famous for its bad mpg, personally I do around 12km/liter (34mpg UK)or more if I pay attention to my right foot : ) It's not the most economical hot hatch in the market, but you enjoy every little second you drive it...Trust me, go and buy an R53, you will never regreat it!
