Here from Mike's channel and glad I came this is a very cool build. I wanted one of those mini jeeps for a long time my only problem is the ones they sale are smaller than I want there almost kids sized I want something more, oh,, say,,, maybe,, like exactly what your building lol!! No joke this is exactly the project that's been bouncing in my head well almost in my head I'm using a street bike engine with 100+hp but I love the engine you chose for simplicity and since it's a jeep it will crawl well. Love this project!

What an awesome project build. They used to make a mini jeep that was sold here in the states back in the late 60s or 70s. I'd like to know what that transfer case is from that your using? I'm looking for something like that for a future project. Glad Mike Festiva sent me over to see your channel.

same engine that's in my 1974 Wheel Horse B80! the K181s are very reliable in my experience, and Kohler is still making parts for them all these years later. it may not be the most advance or easy engine choice, but it's certainly robust.

Sorry but i didn’t plan to film the project at that time.. ☹️ but what i did was mesuring the different between the long and the short drive shaft and cuted the long side down to the same length as the short side, turned a sleve too fit in the axle to line up and welded it back together. The rear axle i was able to put in the lathe to check if everything was straight before and after welding. The front one was a bit more tricky becouse the axle housing is not round. Så i mock it up on my welding table, no advanced cuting needed because you need to line it perfectly before welding 👍🏻 but remember this is axels from suzuki sj and not sammy the sammy axels are wider 😄

Hello tank you :D yes everything is from the sj 413. sj410 had been better because of smaller gearbox but those are more rear here in Norway so I just used what I had laying around :)

What gearbox did you use?

Is there a thrust bearing on the inside of the crankshaft? I would be worried about the clutch pressure pushing the crankshaft into the engine case. These engines are not designed for loading in that direction. Hope it works for your purpose.

I dont know 🤣 But the original pto output is like a small car clutch so when you engade it it will put pressure on the crank all the time you use it, so i think it will handle the pressure from the clutch 👍🏻

@@vassdalencustom8689 Ah ok, sounds like it might indeed have a thrust bearing in the case perhaps. Often smaller and cheaper engines of this type only have crank bearings, and can really only handle radial loading from a chain or belt pulley. But I think these Kohlers are pretty well designed and built. I really like the project!
