The JCW Pro Exhaust is by far one of the best sounding exhausts in the market for a MINI. Those Team Dynamic racing wheels are a perfect fit for the F56. I have a dealer special ordered Cooper S + JCW Pro Exhaust + Engine Tune, absolutely wicked!

With a simple remap people get about 280 bhp or more out of those things... there are various examples around the youtube. This new 2.0 liter engine is really underpowered and there is more than enough room for improvement.

I know this. I was born in Epsom Surrey and Im still a citizen but im in the states with a Resident Alien Green card. A used E30 I looked at when I was visiting my uncle in Chelsea was £11,000!!!! WTF!!?? That is fckn common. No wonder everyone gets hard lil peters over 250hp. The common person here wont buy a 250hp car. Its shit.

Yup! R56 Cooper S, 220 hp/260 ft/lbs Manic Tune, Invidia exhaust, Bilsteins/ H&R's. Funny thing is with an Invidia exhaust, my MINI sounds exactly like the Challenge. Probably because of the twin scroll turbo and unequal length headers on both cars.

I get some of the comments on here, horses for courses and if everyone liked the same thing the world would be a boring place! :-) Yes I am (in my opinion) one of the lucky ones as my JCW Challenge is arriving in late October (hopefully 2016 :-) ) Own a standard F56 JCW, have just sold my R56 Sussex Road and Race track car (Challenge spec in 2012) and used to own an R53. Love them all for different reasons but I had to get one when they were announced to scratch my trackway itch now and then. For those purists amongst you my dad had 17 classic minis in his time, guess thats where i got the bug. Yes its expensive but having spent £10k plus to build an R56 Challenge car for me (Again personal opinion) this is pretty good value and fully warrantied.

Probably a cheaper solution: Buy a standard JCW, buy decent suspension and an exhaust. And here`s your `Challenge`. Then spend a few extra pounds to tune the engine and you murder the `Challenge`.

MINI have fallen very, very far from the R53. Oh how I miss my supercharged cracked terrier...Plus, the Abarth 500 has the MINI beat in the 4-cyl turbo sound department. Nice chassis apparently, but let down in so many other areas...lost charm being the big one.

the supercharged version was gutless. I much prefer the new gen.

Gee Tee you are so wrong. It was lighter, more nimble, and had no turbo lag at all. Not gutless. With a 15-17% pulley swap and some basic bolt-ons, well over 200hp is easily attainable from the tiny 1.6. Plus, it didn't run into a heat wall like the turbos did [speaking from experience working on R53 and R56 MINIs].

ChaosphereIX I'm talking standard. You could save weight and make changes to the turbo versions too but then it's a different car. Standard SC was slow, gutless and my NA Clio was miles more fun and faster. The current version feels miles ahead of previous gens.

I think Klasse Act was rather getting at the fact that the Mini gets bigger and bigger every generation. I also find the current Mini too big and out of proportion. This is due to the fact that by the next generation BMW wants to have the Mini and 1 Series running on exactly the same platform

di foo!! ...yeah, I was being funny about the ray gun but as far as running circles around my Abarth....NO! I haven't been on track but I've been challenged by the rare MINI owner I've seen and it hasn't been pretty for the MINI, although it was an R56. I had an R56 from 2007-10 and it was a POS, 3 aux fuel pumps, fuel injector, MAP sensor, timing chain, 2 intake manifolds because it would freeze up when cold and the car would "diesel". I've had ZERO problems with my Abarth and its modded. I'm not saying that a Fiat is a Honda for reliability but it's been waaaaay more reliable than my old MINI and others has many problems with their R56's. That fact is this, R53 was the right size, then the R56 got bigger and now the F56 has gotten fat and lazy. It may have more power but it's waaaaay bigger than 2 gens ago and that isn't right. Also, never see MINI's around, cars and coffee and the like, why is that because it's such an enthusists car but yet you never seen them except driven as commuter cars by people who are certainly not enthusiasts. +Nik Brudar I bet it's actually a lot quieter than we think. People in the UK have much lower noise tolerance than other parts of the world, particularly the US. I've had people from the UK describe the M4 as "loud" and used words like "Thundering noise" to describe a stock Camaro SS. Were they friggin' serious? Yes, they were serious. What's "loud" to them isn't the same for others.

it is such a pain to watch and to listen to this jerk... however, the Mini Challenge is cool and has a nice sound as well. It would be great so see a track battle between this and the Clio 220 Trophy. The Clio Trophy was on every track significantly quicker than the new JCW, so it would be a nice battle now against this Challenge Mini. But put semi slicks on both then ;)
