Love these sort of videos, I imagine the car becoming more and more conscious and aware of its own existence as it's being built. When it's sitting there and it gets its wheels and engine it's like a bird that gets its wings and it finally knows what it's born to do. Just a thought😊

Can also confirm that on my '14 Cooper S... Sadly I have a stone chip in the bonnet and you can se the metal really good... i need to fix that soon!

Mind you the way they go about cat lick renewing of road surfaces leaving cars to embed the chippings into the surface doesn't exactly help a cars life of remaining stone chip free any more than the pot holes and craters, I am sure a good polish helps considerably to deflecting stone chips and scratches though.

A long way indeed from the old Longbridge or Cowley works with all those strikes and labour problems. Again, it is a lot to do with BMW’s “Teutonic Efficiency” and “Process Orientation”.

I remember taking my father to a car sales place they ordered a job lot of new cars and my father got his Ford KA 25% cheaper than when we sat down at the main dealer it just had the company that bought the job lot as the first owner.

@@oddities-whatnot It also depends on your driving style and where you live. Mini are fun cars, especially with great power. My countryman s run at 340hp and 350tq. Every day I'm glad I did the modification, mostly because I do long-distance driving always.

The rise of the machines - TBH I'm sort of glad industrial robots are putting together my Mini - even the most detailed and dedicated workers can miss things every so often and it's not something I'd like to do for 8 or 10 hours a day....

Trouble is we tried that in the midlands but then the 60s and 70s happened. Workforce V BL = together they killed the native car industry. Better with robots every inch of the way.

Presumably, BMW think that if they put those ridiculous oversized "cartoon" rear light clusters on, the car will look smaller rather than the over weight, over blown monstrositiess that they have become!

that PEUGEOT-CITROEN/MINI 1.6 THP ENGINE is not that reliable, mostly of them has manifold gasket leak problem, the BMW B-series engine is way better and more reliable...

Very spooky and worrying. Not just one single human! I remember those days when workmanship was huge. In Latin America and some other very poor places all over the world, automation results very expensive so they will decide to go for the "African" force. Maybe that's not very bad at all.

Prefer the old mini . This car is way ,way to Big ... And like alot of German cars Overpriced , un- necessary Over engineered I as a Mechanic think it's a Terrible Motor . Much prefer Honda, Toyota and even hyundai these will out last that mini.
