Mini R53 MOT worries and a significant setup change

Glad you like them! Still got a few maintenance bits to do next month and cross fingers that will be it. Maybe a few changes in the summer as well but will see how the budget is doing lol

@@DamoDrives I'd love to do a few shows this year, if our paths cross, I'll definitely come and say hello. My F54 Cooper S Clubman (manual) is now a BMW 128ti (auto) - I'm very much enjoying the new car. I still keep looking at GP2s and R53s though. Maybe a future (keeper) classic second car if finances ever allow.

It is a million times better, I am not planning on taking it on track so no point in that setup (think it was more stance than for driving)

I did try coilovers on mine once but regardless of what setting they were in I found that they were way too hard and would bounce a bit. In the end I bought a set of Koni Active shocks and got a set of MCS GP red springs.

I was amazed by what Arkham have done to the car in terms of setup, same parts just a team who know what they are doing 😊

£7800 (or £8300) well spent! It was always a car built to look good rather than drive well. Good luck getting it set up properly, there’s so much potential in these cars, it just needs unlocking

I am happy with the ride and handling without spending a fortune. Possibly could do with a few performance tweaks but be good to work with a tuning company to make some more content

I love the wheels and still not sure if I will sell them, friends keep saying it makes the car and makes it a bit different.

@@DamoDrives If you do sell them please let me know. At the moment I have a set of 18" R95 MCS wheels and with my current suspension setup I can live with them fine. If you do want to sell them let me know. My R53 just beat me up with a new Timing chain this week so I should have financially recovered by next payday so keep me posted.
