Very clear tutorial - thank you. I've made pouches and totes and never thought of rounding the bottom corners. Something simple like that makes all the difference. And, YES, more bags! I'd love to make a lightweight day-use backpack with straps, not strings, to use when we bike on vacation. Something pretty, fun, and not-too-hard to make!

Just got a chance to try this. I didn’t have the special interfacing so I just used some basting spray on my sew-in stabilizer! Oh wow! This is life changing.

Could you explain where exactly you are measuring from when you put the ruler down to trim? I have watched the video several times and am not familiar with on point. Thanks so much
@FatQuarterShopTX6 жыл бұрын
Hi Lori! At 5:51 we are measuring a half inch away from the corners of the squares. If you see the highlighted line, it is intersecting the corners on the fabric squares and that's where you want to measure from. Let us know if you have any more questions!
@ruthdrews4966 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to go back and rewatch this also....now that you’ve explained it a little better for those who might now quilt that much, I might be able to see what you’re talking about.....LOL. For me, that was the only thing lacking in your video; otherwise, great tutorial....

thank you for such an informative tutorial. i had never heard of quiltsmart before. this could be a game changer for me. i make patchwork bags by sewing each square together. very time consuming. i will be placing an order for this product. do they make it in other grid sizes? like for the 5 Inch squares or a 1 inch square? i do bags with all different size squares. the 1 inch squares are very time consuming, but turn out quite adorable, imho.

Are the zipper fabric pieces at the ends not sewn into the seam? I like how neatly the zipper looks with this technique.
