It's time for another episode of The Mini Sculpting Super Show. This time I have a tutorial for sculpting much needed footwear. In this case, a not-so-fine pair of BARBARIAN BOOTS!
On top of all that, I'm using ProCreate for this demo. You'll get a little more insight about my process when working with putties rather than my typical polyclay.
Have you had any struggles with sculpting footwear?
Medium:
ProCreate (putty)
Tools:
Wax #5
Colour Shaper Flat Chisel Size 0 Firm
Scalpel
X-Acto blade
Small Burnisher
Needle Tool

Great video! I have had lots of trouble with symmetrical objects too. I would always do exactly what u recommended and split my clay in half 😀 it really helps

... One tool that would have helped me SO much back when I was actively sculpting, right around the turn of the millenium, would have been those wedge-shaped, rubbery shaper tols... I worked exclusively in Kneadatite back then...

This is actually one of my ProCreate putty sculptures (mixed with a little Aves Apoxie Sculpt). A rare site for me these days.

Thanks, as always great stuff. Do you usually sculpt body to the stage that "its ready" and then build up clothes or usually when you have an idea of what you want you skipp all muscle building?
@TomMasonSculptor
@TomMasonSculptor 6 жыл бұрын
This character has more of the body "ready" than many. It's good to always build the body up some. However, if you are going to have lots of clothes and armor on the figure, there is no need to build up the body as much as you see on this barbarian.
