Mini Skate Vlog

It's been a while since I got outside and tried to film an IRL skate vlog for this channel, so I figured today we'd give it a shot! I really enjoyed getting out there and putting this together for the channel, so hopefully you enjoy watching!

I skated when I was 15 for like a year and I’m now 28 and have been back on the board for 2 months and I absolutely love it. Haven’t enjoyed something this much in a long time. So glad to have skateboarding back in my life

I started skating at 23, so pretty late. 26 now, don't think I'll ever be doing anything impressive, but it's still great fun to just ride around, ollie over gaps, etc. Which I think anyone in their 20s or even 30s could get themselves doing. It's certainly not something I'll have lost by my 30s. Anyone thinking of starting, you don't need to learn much more than riding around to have a great time with your board. At the end of the day, that's what they're designed for, all the tricks are just an added bonus.

I just turned 30 on August 3rd and got my first ever backside tailslide after 17 years of skating.. so yeah I feel better than ever, and younger and younger every day!

Thank you for your words. I am now 33 and hardly even skate, even though I love this piece of wood with wheels more than anything else. I am still up to date about everything that happens in the skate world and watch almost all new videos and enjoy content about skate video games. My clothes also show that I am a skater. And yet I always find enough excuses why I should not go skating. The weather is not perfect, I'm not as good as I used to be or I have to go skating alone. I still hope through your words to finally be motivated enough to get back on the board.

FWIW As someone who's also in his 30s and took some time off in college, my biggest piece of advice should you ever jump back into it is just re-adjust what you expect to gain from being on your board. For me, a big issue once I approached and subsequently passed the 30 mark was mentally feeling myself hit a progression block and it reached a point where I started resenting my board because I wasn't progressing the same way I was when 14, 15, 16 years old. However, I've learned that me being on my board now is less about some monumental skill progression and more about my mental and physical health. If I go more than two or three days without a session, I feel like shit and I feel myself slipping into a bad state of mind. Am I still progressing? Sure! But it's slower and learning new things just takes longer than when I was younger, but I love being on the board regardless. Sometimes I'm alone, sometimes I run into a few of the local cats, but I'm on the board and I'm at peace. Embrace your peace.

Two things. 1. I think there are only two skate youtubers that truly interest me ; Garrett Ginner, and Chris Chann. and if you did this regularly I would add you to that list. love watching your skate vlogs. (and your sxl content too). 2. I am 25, and just got back into skating a few months ago. It is true what you said about finding other ppl to skate with, so I do exactly what you suggest and film myself. mainly for progression journey. But it does make it less lonely. only thing that sucks about getting back into skating as an adult is when i bail at 25 i feel it for a week, back when I was 15 I felt like nothing ever happened lol. Good vid milky, Defo want more of these skate vlogs, you shred man!
