3:53 I’m not sure how but my guess is that you’ll do this same process for one ruffle and then add another one, and lay the shorter ruffle on the waist band then the longer one on top then sew it together…I’m not sure if it’ll be hard taking out the basting stitch but I’m gonna try this weekend and I’ll let you know ☺️

FYI I think at 3:53 it says wrong sides facing but I think the way you did it is right sides facing??? either way, if you do more which I so hope you do because I made this and loved it, it would be super super helpful in the tutorials if you could use a fabric that has a really clear right and wrong side as it's super super helpful for us beginners!

Hey Ruby! I was wondering how you made the two tier black skirt from the beginning of your video. Should I just make two gathers of slightly different sizes? For example, would pairing the 9.5 and the 11.5 gathers get the result you got?

yes this pattern is only for stretch fabrics, i plan on putting a similar one out for woven fabrics!

unfortunately i dont think it would.. well i mean its possible, i just think the fit would look and feel be really bad lmao,, but i can design a woven fabric version of this pretty easily! i’ll keep it in mind

absolutely! it comes with multiple length options, but if you wanted to add even more length, i would just cut the gathers piece a bit longer, and account for the hem allowance!

I crochet but think i need to statt sewing again think this videos my sign! I dont have a lotta money for clothes but am super creative im always like f*ckkk i wish the store bought were CUTER! I COULD MAKE BETTER MYSELF! any tips to get started on a big budget?

Well, you don't need a lot of tools. You mainly need thread, sewing machine, and scissors (use what you have until you can afford fabric scissors or know if you want to sew more!). They sell machines at Walmart for around 100 dollars. Or find a used one. :) I use a packet of safety pins and cheapest straight pins. You don't even need measuring tape. Just a non-stretchy piece of thread held up to a measuring stick works. For fabric I suggest thrifting! Old tablecloths, sheets, and curtains are FABRIC! Blessings.

the pattern comes with a low rise and a high rise option!

but to make it even more low rise, you could trim the waitline of the low rise option piece to be even shorter, or size up slightly!
