Dude, Tang makes THE best subs, and passives you can buy without getting into stupid prices. you can count on about $10 per inch when it comes to their subs.

What is the design of the box? It looks like it has a roof and some kind of open backyard with a privacy fence. I have that sub and want to see what it can do

What does thar sub compare to for bass? Can't tell from video. I'm working on finding a way to get good bass in saddlebags on harley without giving up all of the space. I'm even thing of places for a sub to be hidden out of site.

The little amp you are using, does it have built-in high & low pass filters?
@Stitch764 жыл бұрын
No, that mini amp board doesn't unfortunately. All it has is volume control, treble adjust and bass adjust, it's a very basic cheap mini amp board that I use for testing.

@@Stitch76 thanks for that, just brought the same Tang Band 3" Sub & 2x Tang Band 2" full range. Am going to use 2.1 crossover "NE5532 78M12" & 2 small amps.... Is a shame that none of the 2.1 amps have built in filters
@Stitch764 жыл бұрын
@@UR_HR It's a fantastic sub, I have been really shocked at the power of it. I've not used that board before, did you get the self assembly version or the pre-assembled? The Pioneer GMD1004 is a great small amp that has hpf & lpf filters built in but is more pricey then these boards. You can run it as a 2.1 amp if that helps your situation.

would this be powerfull enough for a car trunk subwoofer?

It would depend on your car really and the box and amp that you use. If space is tight then I would say go for it, you won't be disappointed

@@ctrey8395 I've got a pair of JBL 18 inch pro sub drivers with a 100 watt per channel amp. I'm probably getting higher sound pressure levels. I get over 130db. Look into driver efficiency. Most cars subs are around 80 to 84db for 1 watt. Mine are over 100db for 1 watt. So 10 watt into the JBL's is the same spl as 1000 watts into most other car subs.

My choice was either the Tangband Sub or the Dayton Audio Fullrange. And interestingly enough, the Dayton Audio wins in the Bass department over ANY 3" sub. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJiZf2t3apKGn9U

Is it loud enough for a party?
@Stitch763 жыл бұрын
That would depend greatly on your amplifier and the size of the room, would need a bit more information before I can answer accurately, sorry.
@maximumcat3 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about a party with a lot of people... probably not. Better off with some larger/more powerful speakers/subs for that kind of job. Producing a lot of bass (especially deep bass) requires a lot of air movement. There is only so much air a tiny 3" subwoofer can move. The amount of air you need to move is also determined by the size of your listening space. Larger room = you need to move more air, therefore, the larger your space, the larger the amount of air your speakers need to move. You'll also want to make sure you aren't pushing the speakers to distortion... if they are distorting, not only does it sound like crap, but you're probably damaging your speakers. For a party, I recommend using large, high-efficiency speakers with a good amp.

That box is horrible btw. It's too large, a smaller box with a passive sub added would have been way more efficient...It also looks like a 10 yr old made it oO, at least add some hot glue to the wire hole.
@Stitch763 жыл бұрын
The box is the size recommended by tang band for the sub. The box was hot glued after and wrapped in some carbon vinyl wrap I had laying around. I agree the subs are amazing and have been so impressed by it and yeah my woodworking skills are amazing! Haha you should check out my boat if you want to see some prime examples of my woodworking skills and somehow the thing even floats haha. Think the worst thing I ever made was my work bench it's terrible but woodworking is not my skill set so I justify it being bad haha.
