2:31 your suppose to put spacers under the engine to lift it up not over. Mini bikes have the same problem just use square tubing and drill holes in it, really not hard just need longer mounting bolts.

Dude, I've got a Honda big red 200e 3 wheeler that I welded the front forks solid on when the shocks blew up and broke. Ive been planing on making a ski for it. Snow shenanigans with a front ski is badass. This is cool shit

Put 4wheeler tracks on the back and ski in the front, we did that with our 250sx and it's a tank will go everywhere we want if it gets stuck slam it in reverse and go again

I would flip the pillar bearings in the rear and add to fork length to raise it. I would use small angle iron aluminum for the ski runners for the steering. Lol. Looks fun.

Put a small shock to each track to keep them from flipping, and another to back of ski with it slightly pointed up in front when attached. Then add another aluminum rail to outside edge of ski for turning.

Couple of quick tips: #1 if u run ur grinder cutoff wheel on a bar of soap b4 cutting aluminum, it'll keep the alum shavings from clogging the cutoff/grinder discs #2 if u get the alum plate heated up/annealed, it'll bend alot easier & Gina's hella funny & perfectly elf sized for midget tank

Put your runners down each side of the front ski so no matter which way u turn it will catch a runner

When you cut on your bandsaw you want the top guide to be 1/8" to a 1/4 inch above whatever you're cutting, helps keep the blade going straight.

Canadian tip, put bench grinder and vise on recievers and put a hitch on ur bench. Then when you want them outta the way. Just pull the pin and slider out

All you do to get that torque converter setup to work is cut the bottom portion of the backer plate below the torque converter until it clears the frame. I’ve done it to numerous mini bikes. It doesn’t take away from the integrity of the backing plate. And then it should be plenty exciting to ride….. for a while anyways.

Top tip for bending aluminium... take a bar of soap, rub it on the surface, heat with a gas torch. When the soap turns blackish brown, it's ready to shape. The hardness will return when it cools down. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!! Cheers. Leigh.

Hey man, drill and tap the rear guide of the bandsaw and make a 1/4"x3"x3" plate with counter-sunk tapered head allen bolts to bolt on it so you don't have to to freehand start the piece when you are vertical-bandsawing.. Even if it needs a support it will be muuuch better. I say 3x3 because with that small a screw you don't wanna lean on the piece and rip stuff out. It would just be for starting and better control of the piece.

IF, you had the guys you know with a CNC Machine, make a small(doesn't interfere with the horizontal cut backstop) bolt-on male T-slotted piece than you could just shove a female T-slotted plate onto it and not need bolts. That's actually a saleable product for these harbor/princess saws..Even better, easier to figure out, would be a new rear guide mount with with T-slot mount built in.

One thing would be bolt your Vise down, and if you use a oxygen and acetylene torch you can Aneal the aluminum which makes it soft so you can bend it easier.

So when you put a torque converter on mini bikes most the time you have to shift the motor or jack it up higher.. most go cart/minibike sites have a "motor plate" for that reason.. you could probably put in the motor plate and give it the clearance needed.. but sick build

@@bougiebum9138 He could register it over here in the states, some of which having little to no issues with custom built toys on the street. Iowa for example has very lenient laws. If its under 700cc on a custom built chassis, it could be even be registered as a "side by side" with wheels on it and a smooth rubber track and insured all the same. Im even in the process of registering my sand rail for the street. We actually have a bunch of guys local who do snow mobile drags on our lake when it freezes over here in Okoboji Ia. People hit 200+ mph on the ice! Ive seen a few with street bike engines, v8s, you name it. If it can be registered, it can be road driven and then drag raced. Kyle has the know how to put a bad mother of a snow mobile together. I can just picture him dragging it with the mullet rocking out the back of his helmet 🤘

Its defiantly boggy with the centrifugal clutch. With the torque converter, it would allow the engine to rev up, then it shifts out to increase speed. Same thing as a CVT on a snowmobile, ATV, and UTV.

I'd think you want the front ski to angle away the way it does, to keep it from "catching an edge" like on a ski or snowboard. I'd think a few 1/4" strakes on the bottom would help maneuverability.

Looks like u could probably make the torque converter set up work if u just put a spacer block under the engine and the onlys Sacrifice you would have to make for that is to redesign your gas tank a little bit so you could flip it to the top of the bar instead of having it hanging from the bottom of the bar but if you put a spacer block under the engine you can definitely make the torque converter work don't forget about the 28 Mill flat slide carburetor swap that would be nice little power upgrade for you and if you find the right one that comes with the whole twist throttle and cable and everything but check out ...gopowersports for parts if u haven't already lol
