I really enjoy the variety of exercises in this video. I’ve been rotating four of your vidoes and alternating them with my running days. After 40 years of running, my 70-year-old knees have never felt this good. I have two questions if you don’t mind. For optimal benefits … 1) Do think it’s important to “rest” the full 15 seconds between exercises? 2) What Heart-Rate Zone would you think we should strive for while doing these? I’ve tried out many rebounder videos and have come to the conclusion that yours are the best by far in every aspect. I plan to live forever-so far, so good. David Bellingham
@NaomiJoyFitness3 жыл бұрын
Hi David! That's amazing! Thanks so much for letting me know! Yes, my videos are perfect for athletic folks like yourself, who want a high intensity workout without the joint strain. Let me know the other three videos you are cycling through. I am curious! In regards to your question about High Intensity Interval Training... 1. Yes, it is important to actively rest, so your heart rate lowers slightly. To clarify, I keep moving in the rest sections, I don't stop bouncing. I am often practicing the next move, but I am not putting as much energy into the movements. In my Advanced Tabata videos or in the later part of the videos, I take more "rest" by just doing the health bounce. If you don't recover, you won't have the energy to push yourself in the "work" sections. For HIIT training to be effective (based on a scale of 1-10 exertion level) you want to be aiming for a 7-9 exertion level in the work sections and a 5-6 in the active rest sections. 2. In HIIT workouts to be effective, we are aiming for a heart rate at a submaximal level: around 75-95% of maximal Aerobic capacity (out of breath) and around 50-65 % in the rest periods. In order to find this on the rebounder, you have to be flexing the core and upper body, as well as pushing down into the rebounder with power (adding leg weights can help too). You can find your maximum heart rate zone with this formula (220- your age= maximal heart rate). That means as a 70 year old, your MAX heart rate should be 150 BPM. In the "work" sections, you should aim for around 112-135 BPM and the active "rest" should be around 75-98 BPM. Hopefully, this is helpful! Thanks so much for working out with me David! :) I plan on living forever too! This year was my big 40!
@davidkehe53813 жыл бұрын
@@NaomiJoyFitness Thank you, Naomi, for this thoughtful response. You’ve given me “permission” to take a rest for 15 seconds. Too often I’ve been of the mind-frame that the harder we push ourselves the better. So I used to run every day until I learned that our muscles need days off every week to recover, and they will actually develop more if we do. And it sounds like the 15-second break serves a similar purpose. I wear a watch with a heart-beat monitor, so your recommendation for heart rates during the exertion and rest are helpful and add another interesting aspect to these workouts. I have to admit, though, in this video, the double bounce at the 22-minute mark is one that I haven’t been able to master yet. 😊 In addition to this video workout, the three others I do regularly are: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6Cnc2Vrh7F3pZI&ab_channel=NaomiJoyFitness kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJaUfZiorN2tY6s&ab_channel=NaomiJoyFitness kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqqaomWbpZdmhLc&ab_channel=NaomiJoyFitness David

It’s nice to see two different rebounders used. Because seems like jumpsport one u can move faster, but if she is doing leaps and rebounds as well, then that means I should be able to keep up with her count.
@NaomiJoyFitness3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, you can definitely follow along with Hana, as she is bouncing on the Leap and Rebound. The JumpSport is actually slower than the Leaps and Rebound trampoline because it has a deeper, more challenging bounce. The L & R is stiffer, which means you can bounce faster on it. I am able to move quickly on whatever trampoline I am using because I am focusing on pushing down, not bouncing up. This should always be your focus! :)

Thought I was blitzed after upper body and core workout, but your bright pink and gorgeous city scape got me to sweat more. Thank you for all your exceptional content. Does the Leaps rebounder have more tension in the bungees or does it just appear that way due to the nature of the larger jump mat? I'm curious and thought I'd ask since you have used both rebounders. Do you prefer a smaller jump surface? I guess I'm wondering what you have grown to prefer between the two? I have the Leaps and have placed six of their new softer bungees at each of the legs. I think I like the feel better but still deciding. I just started rebounding 8 days ago, so I may have gone at it with too much gusto and not given my body adjustment time. I pay for diving in head first sometimes. Glad I did because I've discovered your delightful spirit and workouts.
@NaomiJoyFitness2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Welcome to my channel! Yes, the Leaps Rebounder has a stiffer tension than my Jumpsport, which makes it easier to bounce on. I prefer the larger platform of the Leaps, but I like how challenging the Jumpsport rebounder is. The Jumpsport has a deeper bounce, which is more challenging for the core and legs! Make sure you look through my rebounder playlists! I have made many different styles of classes! :)

@NaomiJoyFitness3 жыл бұрын
Hi Heidi! You're very welcome. You could do this routine 3 times a week, but you want to if you want to lose body fat, you should also be working on building lean muscle. When you build lean muscle your metabolism increases and you will decrease in size. I have been creating short strength workouts for my channel. I would recommend adding them into your weekly workout regime! I also have longer trampoline workouts which combine strength and cardio. :)

Why are jump squats feel so hard and scary to do on a rebounder? I always feel like my knees might give out or something I can’t describe. And wonder if it’s in my head and keep going or am I holding the positions wrong?
@NaomiJoyFitness3 жыл бұрын
Squat jumps are very challenging, for sure! That is why I put them into my workouts. AS I mentioned in the video, it is very important that you are landing with your weight back in your heels with your knees pressing out. Spine should be straight and chest should be open. If you are losing this alignment, you may feel it in your knees. It sounds like you need to work on developing strength in your lower body, specifically your glutes. If you feel yourself lose alignment, then take a little break and just do the squats without the jump. Keep in mind, my legs are very strong and that it will take time to build up your strength. I would recommend practicing this booty band rebounder video 1-2 times a week. Remember to take breaks if you have to! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXfcaKajadh0Y9U
