I had a dairy, beef and horses. Cows like other animals give back what you put in them. When I was young I taught a calf to fetch a ball. You can teach them not to poop and pee everywhere, but I doubt they can be safely house broke. Healthy cows need a more balanced diet than whatever grass you may have. A dairy cow produces about 100 pounds of poop daily. And gallons of urine. I think a mini cow would overwhelm a back yard. They are herd animals and need company of their own kind. So you need at least two.

There is already one miniature breed in India called as "Pungunur cow". It is from Andhra pradesh.
