Thank you, this is a very important video, a topic not much covered, and in my perspective crucial for further development as an miniature painter artist.

Thanks. I'm glad you like the video. It's not easy to teach this approach in a world filled with step-by-step recipie videos and such.

Really good explanation of an essential technique. Especially like that you go into a lot of the thought process and reasoning behind it.

Fantastic video! I am very much a novice painter and sometimes I get overwhelmed with all of the technique and recipe videos. This is so refreshing.

It is something I'm looking forward to learn, not confident even for sketches 🙈

Practice practice practice. Don't try to rush the sketch. Think about the volume, and then place the brush stroke with intent. What we struggle with often is unlearning the careful layering apporach that we feel comfortable with.

It looks like acrylic but you mention academic pigment name in the video as well as in the description. One thing I woud like to learn about in a future video is how to transition from a sketch to a final refined model

It will come for sure. The refinement process is not as easy to show, since there's a lot less going on with each brush stroke. And it takes longer than doing the sketch. But i'll make a video for this eventually.

Excellent video - thank you very much for sharing it. I'm wondering how one could apply this technique in situations where you have multiple small, differently-colored components. For example, the rack on the back of AoS's Gobsprakk. It seems like you'd need to paint each component one-by-one, but might this technique work here, too?

Thanks! I'd do a valuesketch in that case. Put in the bright spots and the dark spots, then worry about color afterwards

You do really nice contents, good advices and you paint spectacular. But I think you should work a little on the background of the video to see a greater success, it's still KZbin:)
