These are so cool, have been to this one a couple of times, and there's two railways in Auckland. One in Panmure and one in Manukau/Mangere area, recommend you pop in for a visit if you make it up there on a Sunday. As you said, great way to make a few hours of solid entertainment for kids.

Man I used to live near a thing like this in the UK when I was a child. I was so interested, but the old farts were very hard to talk to lol
