Very good. You make it easy to understand and recreate. There is more to this simple circuit: The Diode here does not only rectify the AC, turning it back into pulsating DC. But, if it is correctly oriented, the Diode is made to Output only that half of the AC power wave which exists while the DC input impulse from the battery is turned Off. This is the greater power of ambient space quickly reforming the small local magnetic field back into its former unpolarized state. There are some uniquely cool properties to this power. But for normal applications, it is suggested a high voltage capacitor is placed between the +/- Output. And realize, that any output during Input-Off, will naturally not load down the input with extra current (amps). So, there is an immediate efficiency advantage with this circuit, and many variations to experiment with. Good fortune, have success!

@foureyedchick4 жыл бұрын
@@biohazardmadness1155 I don't know, but I guess a diode with PIV higher than 500v needs to be used. A 1N4005 has a PIV of 600v, but that may not provide enough protection, so a 1N4007, with a PIV of 1000v would be a good place to start! (BTW, PIV is peak inverse voltage).

It's a nice circuit I've built this before with a BJT but I'd never tried it with a MOSFET. I'm really excited to build this.
@hubbyflashgaming57005 ай бұрын
I used the same circuit. But my MOSFET gate can only switch using 6V. So I added in inductor instead of a resistor and the mobile charger transformer can output 600V to max of 1kV. If I use a car jumpstarting transformer, I can double boost the output of 78.2kV and 500W of full power. The first transformer output 240V AC and 1kW of power. You can't control induction motor because the feedback burnt out my MOSFET. Always use a 12v zener diode from gate to source of the MOSFET. When using 5V, 6V or 9V use a 12V or 15V zener diode. The diode's zener voltage will be doubled from input voltage. Example: 6V input use a 12V zener diode.
@hubbyflashgaming57005 ай бұрын
The zener diode protects the MOSFET from getting burnt by a high voltage spike. The induction feedback voltage spike can jump up to 600V. High voltage can damage the MOSFET. Feedback current will miss the MOSFET gate and flow to ground through the zener diode. If current flow back, it will flow back through the diode in zener mode. The diode will limit the voltage and skip the MOSFET gate.

This circuit is known as a "Flyback Transformer" It works but without significant filtering the voltage on the output will have lots of spikes. You will need a RC and a LC filter possibly 2 of each to get the ripple down if you plan to use this circuit in music.

What is this circuit called? I'd like to Google more
@chvasdek7 жыл бұрын
I have built the circuit using the IRFBC30 mosfet. The mosfet gets REALLY hot. The circuit demands a lot of current from the power supply. My home made LM317 power supply stops working because more than 1,5A is drawn from it. This is of course natural since if the secondary has 400 turns the transformer ratio will be 400/10. And because the cfl i am using needs 75mA the current needed from the power supply is 400*.075/10=3Amps!!!!How much current your circuit draws?Can it work using batteries? If not it is not so useful (to me anyway).Great food for thought and education though!
@AbsoluteTrash_7 жыл бұрын
you could modify your power supply to not output more than 1.5 amps, its not that difficult of a modification.

Can you also multiply the wattage of it?
@ludicscience4 жыл бұрын
No, that would violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics
@johneygd4 жыл бұрын
If it does not increase the wattage,then i consider all these invertor devices as BS ,confusing,misleading and nothing more then a novalty gimmick, So if a 2000 watt invertor requires a 2000 watt accu, why not just tap straight into that accu to get 2000 watt? Why would i have to pay $499 for something wich does add things to it other then being a novalty? If i knew this before, it would,ve saved me $60 Also why are we consummer treated with the term voltage and not wattage??? On universal adaptors it only has a switch for voltage , on batterys it only says 1,5 volt, on devices you only read the amount of voltage, theres hardly any mention of wattage or ampere, i always tout that voltage seems to have something to do with wattage as well but i guess not right??? So what do we rather have 1 watt at 50.000 volt or 50.000 watt at 1volt,mmm sounds senseless right,mmm, But maybe there is a way to get more energy out of less , what if we could convert that 3 volt at 1 watt into 3000 volt to drive a turbine, then that turbine can then drive a dynamo to generate 3000 watt or so, this way we might get more energy out of less, i was always theorizing this concept.
