I know that comparison to old shoegaze bands gets tiresome but, let me do it one last time as an utmost compliment. To me, this song reminds me of the gorgeous melody of Chapterhouse's Pearl, combined with Curve's vocal and drum style. In the end though, The Miniatures succeed masterfully in producing something utterly gorgeous that no band before them had ever produced. This song is a total eargasm and I literally have looped it and listened to it for hours on end, and never tire of it. Love love love love love this song, and I am utterly crushed by the news that this band broke up before they even were given a real chance to showcase their magical technicolored musical masterpieces with the world.

I love seeing clean, straight arrow looking types doing the shoegaze.... and you guys are VERY good! Hints of the greats (Cocteau Twins, MBV, etc.) but with your very own sound. Well done! You each look like you ate all your vegetables, washed behind your ears, got all A honor roll and somehow became very good shoegazers! Completely loving it! All complements and nothing against any other shoegazers. Everyone's been doing some great stuff lately - even the Russians! Have you heard SAAT? They have a tune called Raindrops. Go Shoegaze!

I love Curve and I love this so I made a playlist of Doppelgänger videos and put this in there and it did not work for me. Doppelgänger has a bit of a dark industrial vibe and this feels a bit more dreamy to me. The pace works but that’s the extent of it…for me at least.

I hear influences of Curve, MBV and Cocteaus / Lush in there. That said, I love the sound of this band, the sound invokes the familiar melodies and styles that I love in shoegaze / dreampop, yet there is something deliciously original in their arrangements and instrumentation. I think what I like is that the sparkle of the guitars that doesn't get lost in a wall of distortion. Would love to see these guys tour in the US ...maybe Airiel, Minatures, Seasurfer, Slowdive and MBV can tour together in a newgaze megatour? I'd pay good money to see that lineup!!!
