4:52 dont do it that way! Use a ruber hose! It will not harm the piston and the spark tread! Or use an impact driver!

hello mate. my bike was not starting due to broken pull start, so i saw a youtube video that tried to start it using a drill on the flywheel. i did that but my 10mm nut is rounded off bad. i have bought a new flywheel to match new pull start. any idea how i can get that bolt off?

if you hear clicking while pulling, you need to replace pull start as it is damaged inside

with easy pull start you need to pull slowly gently, then the spring will turn the engine automaticly, if you pull agressive you can damage it

Just a suggestion - I would use a wooden dowel in the spark plug hole

For chainsaws I have used a coil of cotton rope inside the cylinder. Remove the plug and feed a cotton rope inside the cylinder between the piston and cylinder head. Stops piston travel without risk of damaging cylinder or piston.

I had the same problem, i used a dremel (or similar tool) with a mini cutting disc, and i made an even cross grind into the middle of the bolt, then used a phillips head screw driver instead of a ratchet and un screwed the centre bolt out.

if you experience the clicking sound while pulling and no pression then pull start is damaged inside, you will need to replace the pull start

@@MiniBikesStore I don't have any clicking noise I just have the pull start slipping it's not turning the fly wheel. It's only a couple of months old. Just got a new pull start today and it's doing the same thing. Slipping each time you pull it

The bolt to hold on the replacement Easy Start flywheel on some units requires a M6 30mm bolt rather than the original M6 20mm available from any hardware store.

This video was really helping me fix my son's mini quad but the bolt to fit the new flywheel has snapped and I can't get it out will I need to buy a new engine now? Fml.. Lol id appreciate any help if possible

ThomHD you will need a screw extractor. Simply drill a pilot hole in the broken fixing and screw in the LH-threaded extractor for easy removal of broken screws and bolts.

Mini Bikes Store thanks alot for the reply, I ordered an ez out extractor right away and today it arrived, the bolt is too strong in there it stripped it even with the ez out having a very good bite it seems to be very wedged in there is there any other way or do I need a new engine? hi, you can try to bring it to your local car garage, maybe they will be able to remove the broken bolt. if not you may need new engine.

Monica Fiallo there’s suppose to be a flywheel key on the shaft the fly wheel sits in. The key is a small metal piece that hold the flywheel in place. If there isn’t one when you take off the flywheel you have to buy one. Without it the flywheel will just spin on the shaft.

My flywheel is so herkky jerkky. I cannot get a good smooth pull. It seems to lock up every half rotation of the flywheel. Next step for me is to pull off the flywheel to see if anything is damaged, like the drive shaft.

I was given an old used pocket bike that hasn't ran in 4 years, I took a look and there's no bolt holding the flywheel on and there doesn't seem to be any threads to have a bolt in place... is this normal or is there something missing?

Just though I'd let you know that I figured out the issue. Whoever owned the bike before must of stripped the threads inside the crankshaft where the flywheel bolts into. I'll make new threads and try that and see how it goes.
