The point here is not to make the final outcome functional and better. This is followed because it is unusual, well filmed and fun to watch. Most of these projects, once they are finished, go to waste or recycling anyway. :)

i think the chain protection need to be much wider to cove 100% of the chain to be safe so no cloth gets stuck and pull the driver

Very dangerous transmission, you have to make additional protection over the chain, this one is not enough.

To improve more, level your carburetor. The way it sounds, it is flooding out some, or starving for gas. Also be sure your getting adequate oil flow. Your engine isn't level again, this may not allow the oil to be high enough to get splashes inside the crank case. Great build

Gonna need a spring loaded chain tensioner on the back sprocket chain when the shocks are compressed

I noticed that the end you must have locked the suspension so it can't travel, because if you didn't, the chain would surely have slipped badly!

Only real problem I see is that the engine is mounted at almost a 45 degree angle so the dipper for the oil will be less effective meaning you might get barely any oil going onto the components of then engine

Cool upgrade, a bit more fun. Only problem i see is the front fork/suspension, it has only 1-2cm travel before the wheel hits the motormount. On a dirtbike the front suspension has a lot of travel, so you should probably take a look at that. Interesting channel.

i've seen a few cheaply made chinese pit bikes before, but this one takes the cake. bicycle brake calipers, and what looks like a modified bolt on bicycle engine!?! you might want to box in that frame since you have a lot more engine. you may start to get cracking in the frame otherwise from the extra weight and torque stress. edit; i was with you up until your jackshaft placement. you effectively eliminated your rear suspension. it needs to be as close to the swing arm pivot as possible to avoid the chain tension changing with suspension travel. you'll be snapping chains with what you've got here. at least now when it becomes a problem, you'll know why.

@Yosser70
@Yosser70 9 сағат бұрын
The engine is the right way round, hence the bike going forward ;) You are right though, it will break but because of the catastrophic design of his chain drive! Going from the back sprocket, which is obviously mounted on the swing arm, the chain goes to a fixed jack shaft, thats fixed to the frame. So as soon as you sit on it the stain will go very slack (as seen in the video)

i have to say the time and effort you put into this is nice i love to see it, but you have major clearance issues with the front of the engine mount and the steer wheel, plus the homemade jackshaft to the rear wheel, there is no room for the suspension to compress, and adult rider would go flying off the first time they put it down after riding a wheelie, with a kid it could be manageable, but first pothole or dip offroad would send them flying i would say the effort into this build was really good, but the technical aspect is horrid i mean just look how much that rear end dropped when you hit the gas while riding it. If you really wanted to make this work you would have taken the suspension out, i see trips to the ER and frequent tire changes in the near future with this build

I would of used a predator 212 but who cares, people underestimate the power u can make with a cheap 4 stroke, for a few hundred dollars u can really spice up those 200cc 4 stroke and it doesn't take a master mechanic to do it, there super easy to break down and rebuild and it makes really good family time with your wife son and or daughter. The gearing is way too high, try using a rear sprocket with like twice as many teeth on it, and it would accelerate much faster. You could also use two different size sprockets on the jackshaft to reduce the gearing. With an engine that size on that small of a dirt bike, you shouldn’t be able to go full throttle from a standstill without doing a wheelie.
@jacobg5122
@jacobg5122 2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, it won't make much of a difference. Those 200cc engines only put out about 7 horsepower at 3600rpms. They're made to last a long time running at a constant rpm under a constant load. Something like a generator or a water pump, which is why they're built with such heavy internals and a huge oil sump. The best you can do is put on a dual clutch style cvt to modify the gear ratio as it revs up, since it's only got about 2800rpm difference between idle and full throttle.
