I’ve started with this lifestyle about 2 months ago thanks to you. From one of your videos, I then discovered The Minimalists and have been listening to their podcast since. From there on, I discovered a book by Dan Harris called 10% Happier. As a person battling with major depression and borderline personality disorder, this whole process has been enlightening and eye opening for me. So thank you. Keep up with the good content ❤️

I think i inheritied my immigrant Parent's hoarding habits as they grew up not owning alot of stuff. Now that we live in the U.S. we have much more random items just because we can,and I don't blame my parents for that since they grew up in rural villages so this Western Lifestyle is new to them. For me though,I'd like to declutter my living space Marie Kondo-style so this video helps alot.

I only few things left that just sit around collecting dust from before the digital age took over. Dvds, cds, 1 alarm clock, pokemon cards, 1 harry potter book, A couple of pc games from when they use to come on discs and not just digital codes. As a Millennial I'm kind of jelly of Gen Z they get a clean slate right at the start of the digital era of everything lol. I'm currently 26 and already feel like a dinosaur lol.

Hi, CK! High quality content as always. And all good reminders for those of us who have been on the minimalist path for some time now, but have not quite decluttered everything just yet! I’m glad you focussed on the different ways to mindfully discard things. The chore of properly getting rid of stuff is, I think, one of the best deterrents for not bringing more stuff into our lives. Now, most times (but still not always), when I am considering a potential purchase I also think about where it will go when it no longer serves me. Why, just this morning at the Oxxo (Mexican 7-11), I had to decide between buying a tin can of beans and beans in a plastic pouch. I chose the tin because it is more easily recycled, and even if it doesn’t get recycled, it will break down thousands of years sooner than the plastic! As always, fabulous edits! The sequence with the clothes pegs was so fun to watch! How many takes did you need to get them to fall just right? Saludos desde México 🇲🇽!

i really do need to take it easy because ive been almost obsessively decluttering for the past month. its not too much at this point, but after decluttering over half my possessions, I still feel as though there's a lot I should get rid of. I always feel I'm holding on to too many sentimental things, that are not even giving me any value. But I should take it slower, I guess. Before I over-declutter. I'm a compulsive person, especially when it comes to decluttering and cleaning. I'm always feeling like I could declutter more.

Thank you for this CK. Even though I live alone, don't technically have much (as people would tell me), & I don't have furniture (I'm not trying to permanently stay where I am forever so I choose not to buy any). I still have a lot of crap. Bad habit of holding on to papers, it's bad. But I plan to go through it all & then my other things. I try my best to only buy what I need or buy something I know will last me longer then the previous item. I don't have an issue with going through & getting rid of things. It's just having to get the motivation to do it & also deal with my mental health as well..... I've moved so many times that I'm tired of having to haul so much stuff. Some things that are useful & other things I hold onto that are hard to let go but I need to. When I look at all the packed stuff it just makes me want to throw everything away & start over! But then again I'm very particular about things so I would still go through it. Have you ever had moments in your past where you felt overwhelmed by your things, to the point where it made you want to just throw it all away? But you knew you had to go through it but just didn't want to, knowing it'll bite you in the butt later? (Sorry for the long ramble CK 😣 )

My relative just live besides me and so much clutter even some of their stuff is in my space already and I've been having anxiety how my space or theirs looks like.. When you start minimalist lifestyle that means you buy less buy what you need, reuse things, recycle and declutter things in the right way. I just started on my minimalism journey last month. My reason for practicing minimalism is because I want to free myself from the anxiety and depression. I want to overcome procrastination and become more productive. And I found that minimalism has helped that part of my problem. Decluttering unecessary and unused items felt like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulder. Minimalism also helped me become mindful of what I purchase. It taught me to be grateful and content of what I have now and to be resourceful, instead of always looking at what others have and constantly compare myself. Buying only the things I need at the moment, and not giving in to impulses. I am improving at self-discipline as well. My room is easy to clean up now also.

3:30 this is such an important point, know why you are getting rid of something and look up how many people are selling that thing online. If you need another one how much would it cost? Is it a rare book that you can't find anywhere else or is it something that is sold all the time at an affordable price?
