I have done the same thing as you, I have learnt that when you first do it, it's best to repeat the same process a week or two later. You would have got it down to the things you love and you're a little bit more ruthless! After that I go to a no buy. I have to use what I have until it's empty and don't replace it until I've used all the products that do the same job as that product. You'll get it down in no time. Great start! I'd also recommend that you watch a few videos on the Konmari/e method. You'll be like dammmm. Lol.

This is so weird because I started watching Rachel Aust's videos a couple of weeks ago and started decluttering everything too! It feels so liberating to get rid of all the things that are just unnecessarily taking up space, I love it!

I've been doing the same! I got rid of SO MUCH makeup, random knick knacks, clothes, etc. I've been giving a lot of it away, which is a nice feeling :) I realized that the lifestyle I'm leading and the one I want to leave requires some change. Good luck!

something i learned whilst decluttering is to not beat yourself down if you don't make a lot of progress. you will always come back and see what you don't need constantly. 10 declutters down the line and I'm still getting rid!

I honestly love doing this kind of stuff even if it's just little bits at a time.Just going through old stuff etc to clear out things you don't need whether that's material things or your thoughts.I've started selling stuff for months and it honesty feels so good to get rid of stuff I no longer use/wear.

this is a good start! I suggest revisiting your collection every month or so and if you haven't used something you promised you'd try or try to use more get rid of it! it's tough at first to justify getting rid of something/ very easy to talk yourself into keeping it with excuses!! keep going this is such a worthwhile thing to do

I just recently started throwing a way a shit ton of makeup I haven't been using in forever, and it feels great. I like keeping only my faves and HGs around, because I know I'll use it frequently.

hi! I really enjoy watching your videos and your personality, and am a fan of make up minimalism. The trick that works for me is that I keep all my make up in one bag (except brushes and lip products- but the following points apply to those as well). The size of the bag is totally up to the person (obv a huge tote will defeat the purpose). Mine is a medium size one that can fit medium palettes. I ensure I never have more make up than what fits in the bag. Firstly, I don't keep more than two of the same thing, each maybe serving a different purpose. Eg a light cover foundation and a full coverage, pink blush and peach blush etc. If I wish to purchase something new, I have to finish or give away something old, preferably same type of product. Finally, I wait 10-15 days between wanting a product and purchasing it. To ensure that I do really want it and don't have anything like it. This has helped me keep my make up really streamlined. Maybe this can help someone else looking at minimising make up. Because it's just one face, after all! :D

I'm working towards minimizing my makeup to one small makeup bag. Not sure if I can do it though. 😁 Right now I have mine in one of those trifold makeup bags that close up, but then I have all my makeup brushes in a mason jar and I really want to simplify even more than that so I'm going to be working on that here soon! 👍🏻

i do this with my collection regularly. I try to keep in mind: makeup expires, and it isn't something that you NEED. It makes it easier to know you'll give it to someone who will use it.

I decluttered everything as well! Didnt even take that long since we don't actually keep much storage, but i still got rid of sooo much stuff. So many clothes, and kitchen utensils, and even expired food... And that was pretty much it (i had already done makeup and other bathroom things). Nothing in the attic or so since we are not even using that yet! *lol*.

My fave part about item purges is it feels soooo good to be honest with yourself about what you're NOT using and will never use and just get rid of it. Yeah the money was spent but letting it sit there unused isn't gonna change that.

Sarah you can pan the naked 2 palette. Do the pan that palette challenge, basically you picks a palette and take a whole year to pan the entire palette. Its what i did with my naked 3 palette that i didnt like and i ended up appreciating the palette more after i panned it.

Smashbox isn't cruelty-free, they sell in China.

+Kristina Hatch According to Smashbox's websites FAQ they don't sell in China and have even written "What countries require animal testing? China, most notably, in addition to a few others that conduct testing by law of cosmetic products or ingredients to demonstrate safety. Does Smashbox sell in any of these countries? No." I also saw another website say they withdrew from China in October 2014 due to public upset at them selling there. (In saying that, they do have the cop out saying on their FAQ of "no animal testing unless required by law" so, not too clear there, but it seems they no longer sell in China.) They are owned by Estee Lauder though, who are not cruelty free.
