Just re watched this video as I need decluttering inspiration! We have been gradually moving out of our (not minimalist!) house over the last few weeks and it’s just crazy how much stuff there was to purge after 9 years we’ve been there. I always do my best to dispose of items responsibly but because of the pandemic it is even slower and more difficult than normal. For example, our local council does not accept CDs for recycling so I had to find a company that recycles them that I could ship the CDs to. But they were not accepting any for weeks due to Covid, so I had to hold on to the box of CDs for all these weeks and only just shipped it out. Also we found some old paint pots and normally we could take these to the recycling centre but they are not taking them at the moment - again had to move them with us! Only a couple of charity shops are open again in our area, and there are so many people trying to donate stuff, it’s a huge logistical mission to even do that. Moving is exhausting as is, but I’m feeling even more tired and stressed by ALL THIS STUFF! This is going to put me off buying anything at all for a very long time! But in the mean time, even though I’ve been purging like crazy, there’s still so much stuff to go through, so I really need more motivation to keep going - thank you so much for the inspirational videos (and sorry about the rant!!)

As you point out, mininalism is a journey. And whenever I go on a declutter spree I find I cam let go of more things thar before. So for me your decluttering pile is so normal amd even small. Im no way close to were you are, but I think this decluttering piles will happen whenever I settle for a while.

Rewatched this Lia. Had a good laugh at the huge declutter mountain on you bed. Then a couple of metal things, knives, tins or whatever, came cluttering down. This was a great declutter, good for you. Keep decluttering girl. Much love.

I laughed so hard, it just kept coming. You can hike across that mountain of stuff. Well done that's a ton of clutter.

I declutterd 2day. And I said I had this. I had that. Is this mine. That's not mine. That's been here all this time. And so forth🤣🤣 I threw everything out. I mean everything. Just seeing it was hitting a nerve. I'm a big time minimalist. I'm the type no need no buy. I have no idea how this even happened. And believe me most things weren't even mine. Ohh well. 2 bad.

Yeees.... I am sure there will be another mountain one day and I don't really know why it is never-ending... Somehow things end up in our apartment from different sources...

@@ecofriendlia Let say your dear young son is a collector and a hoarder - just like we say in English - a Magpie bird. These birds hoard odds and ends in their nests. So the expression originates there. No doubt your son outgrow clothes and shoes every few month. Plus collects stones, sticks and.... Let him collect. Part of a child's fantasy and dreamworld. I live in a studio apartment here in Zurich, but yet there is always things to declutter. I only keep what I use regularly and enjoy wearing. When I see tourists on our trains - especially Indians and Chinese lugging around a huge suitcase stuffed full my eyes just grow big. Reckon my clothes and shoes for all four seasons will fit into one and a smallish rucksack. Such is life Lia - just grin and bear it. Much love and have a great week. .
