Stole the idea from my friend Andrew @ambientendeavors ! Want to do the same with the flint soon 🎛️

Nice setup, room sounds pretty good even without soundproofing. Maybe just some dense panels in your most bouncy corner to keep with the minimalist vibe.

Thanks man! Panels are definitely next. I think I’m going to “properly” treat it with about 5 panels, but they’ll be nice fabric and probably a wooden exterior as well. We will see!

Really neat room man! I agree having everything miked up and ready to go makes it so you can focus on making music and not fighting with stands and swearing at cables 😂

Hahaha exactly! Ironically I had put up the mics I usually have out because I was doing some cleaning, but you get the idea 😅

@@RiggsTaylor no problem man! With my channel, depending on the tune, I'll play drums, bass, and guitar and found I was spending more time moving mics and adjusting levels than playing. Finally bought a bunch of stands and another mixer so I can move between them faster. Really brought the fun back into it. Also made it so I can start recording my band! I'm excited to see your new space man. I've started really enjoying the recording/producing side of things in this lockdown.

@@CharlieMayMusic That’s awesome! And yeah, me too haha. I’m still in the research stages of what to do/how to build it, but since I’ll be using it to record guitar/bass/vocals, program stuff, and shoot videos, I’m not as concerned about it being “perfect” from a mixing standpoint. I send off for mixing/mastering anyways 👌🏻

@@RiggsTaylor Same, but the learning is the fun part! Do you have a mastering engineer you use for your records? I'd be happy to check him out for future projects.

@@CharlieMayMusic Sure do! A guy named Chris Bethea. He's done a lot of projects I've played on, and is who I'm using for an instrumental project I'm working on! Great dude based out of the Shoals.

Great Video, do you have problems with the heat of the sunlight and your guitars? I'm not sure, how much is okay and how much sun is bad for the guitars.
@RiggsTaylor3 жыл бұрын
I don’t! They are about 6 feet away from the window, and because of how our house is positioned there’s not any direct sunlight that shines on them at any point during the day. I also keep the curtains closed unless I’m in that room for the most part.
