I live in the UK, in a small 50 sq foot one level home, built in the 1960’s, with little storage. I have 1 built in cupboard for everything, but currently redesigning the kitchen/diner to include a small utility cupboard. Storage for me is key, and without it, I quickly feel like Im running out of room and get the cluttered feeling.

OH WOW Rebecca you guys scored a beauty with this purchase what a wonderful place to be! Such a gorgeous view, what an awesome little home so darn cute! You may want to get a storage bench to go at the foot of the bed, I have one and use it to store extra bedding, pillows, linens etc. my place doesnt have much closet space either so I am always using storage ottomans, a bench and under the bed storage. Congratulations on your new home may your family have many happy blessed years there! Your pups is so sweet, I bet she likes going for hikes with you at your new place.

What an amazing home, you are so lucky! As for closet space, I would either remove the murphy bed and turn that into a closet, or buy some sort of wardrobe/armoire for storage that can be closed up to reduce visual clutter.

i loooove this, it has excellent bones. turning the murphy bed into storage makes a lot of sense, your guests may get more "privacy" on a pullout bed in the family room. i'd want to paint that duct white so it doesn't compete with your beams.

Sooo lovely! 😍😍😍 I love the rustic looks and charms 😍🥰😍 Haha me and my hubby are mooving soon (in 6 weeks 😱) from a small farmstead with a cottage in northen europe to a small semi-detached house in sourthern europe 🙈 We want the warmer and sunnier climate 🥰 but its really expensive here so all we could afford was a one bedroom house too, at around 900 sq.feet (90sq.m). It has like a small loft that with the addition of a wall and some stairs can be made into a second bedroom though 🙂 The existing storage is similar to your closet 🙈😱🙈 But we have plans to create some storage under those stais and some other small solitions. Anyway, downsizing from farmstead living in the north to small house in the sun 😅 We will for sure need less things for a very different living style and climate, but still, sooo tough! And we only just got it all cleared so there is hardly any time for us to get packed up! 🫣🙈 Keeping finger crossed I wont need Better helps services soon 😅🙈🙈🙈 Thank you for the tour! A LOT of inspiration, so pretty! 🥰😍

The tubs outside are fabulous! Do you use them for cold soak, warm or both? The rugs in the space are gorgeous! The new furniture pieces you have selected are so unique and beautiful as well. It is really nice to see you embracing your styles, How is the outdoor furniture working with any weather?

It's a 1000 square ft. home built in the 1950s with only one closet and one bedroom. This is most definitely NOT an average "big" American home. The design and materials are also quite natural with a vintage feel. I love it!
