The sturdyness of the bed lies not only in 1 cabinet, but all the cabinets as a whole. Same princaple as united we stand and divided we fall. 😆

This is the best one I saw! Not too high, with access to the whole under bed area, with no open shelving or sticking out handles. So good! If I'd ever move to a tiny house, I want my bed to look exactly like this! But with a headboard :D

Great work my man! Simple tips that could save others some heartache: Mark the drill dept with a piece of tape on the actual drill. Clamp together the cabinets before screwing them together. If your plywood has surface damage, ask the store for a reduced prize and demand it if buying the nicer ones marked "interior plywood" or something like that. Sidescrew the foundation and use the brackets to anchor the cabinets instead. Regular wood is much more forgiving that IKEAs particle boards.

Love this idea & a queen size area would be great in my small apartment in Toowong, Queensland, Australia. Love the storage space free from dust & room for a few suitcases in the middle underneath. Shame your not in this part of the world to install this bed for me.

I was fascinated, watching you, build your platform bed. I know I could never do this, but I would love to have that bed. I’ve been shopping platform beds on Amazon and there is none as nice as yours. The secret space in the middle is ingenious. The issue with storage under the bed is that you have to clean as often as you change the sheets, that is, at least once a week, otherwise you will be sleeping under a pile of mites... but the idea is still interesting for other purposes.

Ok so im thinking about doing a ikea bed like this but with a bit other dimensions.and a loft inside What would you advice? so the bed itself would be 1m40 on 2m and i would like to add storage around it but with a cozy loft in the middle of it like a box with cussions and a projector (i dont have alot of space(cohousing so i need the extra privacy of the loft)

It doesn't, the mattress is heavy enough, you can apply some not so strong double side tape between mattress and the platform to increase some friction if you think that's needed

Base on the dimension of the twin bed, I might choose 12', 15', 30', 18' cabinet on the side, and 12' cabinet in the middle

For king size bed, you might want to choose deeper (23 5/8" deep) cabinets, and the rest would be the same.
