I’m a knipex guy, here is something to look at as well, in appliance service I use needle nose every day and I use they’re 40 degree angled needle nose ( 2621200) a lot more than the traditional.

I guessed from the very beginning of the video you were going to pick the other green handle snap on needle nose without The bolt jaws. I was so close. I enjoy watching you talk through these things great video doc

By eliminating the vampliers you now need an additional tool for screw extraction. Albeit not ideal for larger screws as you stated in your video, it does, add another function that would add to the multi function minimalist approach.
@bay98765 ай бұрын
Vampiiers are extremely highly rated for it's metal, strenght, holding jaws together under extreme pressure and for the handles. Wihout a doubt the best over all.
@georgeferlazzo79362 жыл бұрын
Hello again Doc Thank you for another Great Video. What a choice to make. Based on the information, I would take the Snap-on pliers, because of the features it has. I would also choose another Vampliers in Case you do have stripped screws situation. But I think you're getting real close to being ready. Again thank you

Have you seen the Knipex 08 22 145 Needle-Nose Combination Pliers? I find they have a useful variety of jaw surfaces, and they are pointy enough to reach most places. (Which reminded me to order a pair of the 08 25 145 chrome-plated ones for home so I can transfer the -22- ones to work use.)
@axelarge2 жыл бұрын
I was going to suggest the same. They're really universal and are the ones I pick if I can't take the whole toolbox.
@muxmurki14977 ай бұрын
EXACTLY. That's also my favorite for that kind of pliers. They beat all plier heads of every multitool I've seen (and I've seen a lot). IN Germany they're e 18,95.- which is under $ 20.-. And they're extremely handy. BTW: has one of you ever seen the mini combination pliers 08 05 110? They're so cute... :.)

My 4 Pliers to End All Pliers - Snap On Needle Nose - Snap On HC46ACF (the new Flank Drive) - Knipex Twin Grip - Knipex 7" Pliers Wrench The Knipex Twin Grip and the Snappy HC46ACF have a lot of overlap, but the Knipex has more reach and the Vampliers screw extraction, the Snappy is way more heavy duty and a better overall grabber, and I think both have their place. I would actually drop the standard needle nose for the Snap On stork needle nose you eliminated pretty quickly - I can do close-in work with the Storks, but you can't make the standard needles longer. Lots of opportunities in an engine bay to need to reach into tight areas. Honestly, the new Flank Drive 46 pliers from SnapOn have become my absolute favorites overall. The only thing keeping them from perfection is that a little V-groove in the nose like the Vampliers or Twin Grip would make them amazing.dd

Knipex Twin Grip would be, and is, my go to pliers in so many situations. They have gotten me out of jams everytime!

Brother if you ever had pair Klein pliers in your hand , you would think differently . I can't think one one electrician or HVAC tech that uses Snap On pliers .
@LumaLabs Жыл бұрын
@@mikeclark1756 I’m in manufacturing/machining. The flank drive nut grabber on the Snappy is why it is a winner in my environment. Most everything in our world is socket head cap screws, but the Snappy is great for the occasional nut or hex bolt you run into and need to deal with (short of walking all the way over to the tool box).
@shanec39842 жыл бұрын
Of those two the Knipex, but I would also bring the long neck snap-ons. I probably reach for the long neck pliers more then any other plier, I love ‘em.
@bcwrangler2 жыл бұрын
If committed to the minimalist idea then Knipex for size and weight but it has one role. The SO are a bit of a combo package and if you don't need the nut grip section then your just adding bulk and weight. Personally I'm not a fan of multi-use pliers as I, like you, have a variety to pick from for the task at hand.
@pincombe2 жыл бұрын
That size of plier I would go with the Knipex, its got the better shape needle nose. Would be interested in seeing your larger storage setup as I can't imagine how you deal with the sheer number of tools you own.

Knipex, if its between the final two. Needle nose are generally very specifically for when i cant get into an area with regular pliers, or need a really fine point to grab something small. The Knipex are better for that role. I often find that I skip the larger/thicker needle nose, and either grab the fine ones when needed, or a lineman's set.

My hand would reach for the Knipex, but I suspect that the answer is whichever one your hand reaches for.
@cmacblue422 жыл бұрын
If actually b/w these two then the Snap-On…. I imagine reach will be more critical than tip fineness. That being said I edc the Knipex 08-21-145 (especially for backcountry ski/bike) so my inclination is to “barbell” it with one of the snap-on long necks, but maybe my thinking is wrong?

@@lastbesttool Perfect, thanks! I’m getting one of each. Just one more question... Would the wire tying pliers work as well as the Klein Hybrid? (Or is there a different option for the hybrid?) My only issue with the Klein is that brighter handles would be preferable in the garden (anything we can do to encourage gardeners to not leave stuff out, letting it get rusty).
@FreedomFox12 жыл бұрын
@@lastbesttool Ok, I think I’ve answered my own question… Klein has 7-inch Linesman pliers with blue handles. Their handles are the same small size and weight as the Hybrid (I’m assuming the small size is one reason you liked them), plus they’re rated for cutting hard wire, nails and screws. Looks perfect.
@lastbesttool2 жыл бұрын
Wire tying pliers are much like linesman but usually spring loaded and with a bend in the handle where your right pinky finger would sit. Handle color can be changed with shrink-fit covers or even redipping them whatever color you want using a vinyl dip product available at hardware stores. If you are doing a lot of wire tying, then dedicated wire tyers are great, And, of course, you can use them for whatever and however you like. Good luck.
