My home canal, welcome. You will enjoy it. Stunning scenery. You've probably gone thro Grindley Brook by know, but on your return journey if you haven't already, the Horse and Jockey pub has a great menu. Whitchurch is a must visit. It's like Natwich, but on steroids! ! In your effort to go down all canals and branches, Prees branch, ends up at Whixall marina after 2 lift bridges, quite narrow. Some good walks round the mosses. You'll pass some lovely meres as you head towards my home town of Ellesmere. Again a must visit. Could go on, but discover it for yourselves. "Monty" another must, it's like a thin Ashby. Then your on the Llangollen properly after you've done the Monty. Aqueducts, bridges, tunnels, 2 locks, scenery to die for places to see, oh my lord, what ever you do, you'll not be disappointed. ......Enjoy. Those two vixens you entertained gave me some trouble when they visited at winter, but I still love um and their cats.......they pinched the colour scheme off my boat, but they won't admit it.....

I hear, by the grapevine, that you two are working on traveling on every canal in the system. Is there a map or plan on how to travel all the canals with the least amount of duplication? I'm enamored with the idea.

There’s no map or plan, there’s just us making it up, with thus far the duplication of the bulk of the Thames and Oxford. Sigh. We wish there were one.
