Pardon my ignorance Doctor (portion when you come in and make me not feel so confused). Was there a release of the tendon and are we looking at the “vanity” portion being performed now. Reason why I’m asking is because the toe looked so clawed (towards the grown) however, after the the first initial stitches it started straightening out coming right towards us. It’s like a magic trick, no it’s medical school. I apologize for the long question just wanted to know if this was the first and or only thing performed to the toe. Shouts out to the smooth tunes, y’all are jamming.

Thank you for your message! No tendon release or bone correction, this is purely superficial minor skin surgery for these lesions on toes, if the patient’s wants the underlying condition i.e clawed toes corrected we send them to podiatric surgeon.

If the underlying problem is corrected such as removing part of the bone will the problem go away?

There are pros and cons for bone surgery, some patients opt for bone surgery and we refer the patient to a podiatric surgeon others do not want such a invasive option which is when we can help for these corns/ scars on the tops of toes

some places take the bone out underneath and they say that helps prevent regrowth, is that true?

Correcting the underlying bone deformity is a valid evidence based approach however this intervention does have positives as well as negatives associated with it and some patients do not want bones to be cut

Thanks, what are some of those positive and negatives. I have some that I want to get rid of and not come back. My work is in mining machine operation so I wear boots and work socks, little walking, not too much but 84 hour week shift then following week off etc. Is it advisable to have this procedure if my work is where I am in work boots for long periods Would you recommend any care tips for small new corns
