I had this nerve removed 16 years ago, minimally invasive. Never a problem. Was so happy I had it done because I was walking on the outside of my foot for many months. So happy. Thanks for sharing, Doc. 🦋🦋🦋🌟🌟🌟

Do you recommend cryosurgery as another minimally invasive surgery? Have had my neuroma for about and year and half and tried everything except surgery…

I've had Morton's Neuroma for 5 years now and I've tried everything besides the surgery. Nothing heals it to the previous state so I guess I need a surgery. I'm wondering if I should do this minimally invasive surgery before going for the cut out surgery. What's the success rate of the minimally invasive surgery? Is it possible after cutting the ligament the bones to hit the other nerves and damage them since they move out of their original spot?
@halcyon-cg2eb Жыл бұрын
Have you had surgery in the meanwhile?
@georgizagorchev9655 Жыл бұрын
@@halcyon-cg2eb Hey there. I actually did not get the minimally invasive surgery because I found a way to achieve the same result of the surgery. I bought a plastic "toe-spreader", and placed it between the middle toe and the forth toe. This way the bones move in the opposite direction and the nerve is not squeezed anymore by the bones. I started applying anti inflammatory gel on the bottom and the top of the nerve as well - 3 times a day the first three months and then 2 times a day the next 5 months. If I can say that the nerve's original size was 100% before the morton neuroma problem the nerve became 200% of the original size when the problem happened. Now after 8-9 months of using the toe spreader and applying the gel daily the nerve is down from 200% size to 150% size. I believe that in the next 6-8 months with this treatment it can go back to the original 100% size. I say that it dropped by 50% because I literally feel the ball in the foot smaller now and it never hurts anymore, which is the best thing. I have to remove the toe spreader and put all my weight on the nerve to make it hurt, but when I walk now or run it never hurts anymore! I also wear the toe spreader while I sleep. I wear a sock on my damaged foot, so the toe spreader always keeps the bones away from the nerve. The only time I remove the toe spreader is when I take a shower. The anti inflammatory gel is called Tendival .

@@georgizagorchev9655Hello, curious to know if you were able to get back to 100% with your protocol? I was thinking to go with the cryosurgery but I may try this method that you did. Thank you

@@georgizagorchev9655how did it go?
@georgizagorchev96552 ай бұрын
@@crynovrSo, from last year when I said it dropped from 200% to 150%. Now, I can say it has dropped from 150% to 125%. It's still not completely healed. But maybe one more year and it will drop down to the original 100%. Don't do any surgeries or anything else. Just buy a toe-spreader, place it between the toes to create space for the nerve, and apply anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day for one year. You will definitely get a similar result. You need extreme patience.

Is splaying bad if its not due to surgery? My podiatrist commented on splaying in the toes (2nd space) next to the neuroma (3rd space). My husband noticed the splaying a while before I got the neuroma. Hx of untreated bunion. I waited until my baby got to be a teen. Win win since bunion surgery was more incasive 12 yrs ago.
@pkab99453 жыл бұрын
This might not work in my case because I also have a bunion which drives the big toe into the second toe which impacts my neuroma between 2 and 3. This procedure is designed to release the second toe and have it move toward the big toe. In my case, there's no room for it to move.

Thank you, doctor; this is a very informative video. However, it scares me because I'm about to have the excision of two neuromas in my right foot and eventually one in my left foot. I experience the "9 out of 10" pain, and my doctor wants to do the surgery. I am genuinely concerned about the "stump neuroma." From what I have researched, it's more painful than the actual neuroma. I'm conflicted about what to do now.

I hope you have had multiple consultations and have tried all conservative treatments first. Cortisone shot may not be the best solution because it is temporary and can deteriorate the fat pads on the bottom of your feet.
