Since we dropped our video with exercises to relieve pain from Morton's neuroma, we've received many questions on how else to deal with it. What is Morton's neuroma? How can I tell if I have Morton's neuroma? Why do I have Morton's neuroma? What can I do to reduce my pain level without going to a doctor? What do I need to look for in a chiropractor to treat my Morton's neuroma? I don't want surgery, is there anything I can do? We created this video to address these questions and more, so that we can get you back to work, back to play.

I appreciate you sharing. Yes, jumping rope or running stairs is a common cause we see because of the increased load on the front of the foot, especially if the shoes aren’t right. I can’t wait to hear how the tips help. We also have two other videos on Morton’s with different tips.

Lems are a good brand. Zero drop and wide toe boxes.

Yeah, don't do all of this PT on your feet and then just wedge them back into a New Balance or Asics. They're TOO narrow! Transition with Altras, then move to Lems. They're not super minimalist, but have just enough cushion, can fit an orthotic (short term), and are well made. I have foot pain too. I know how discouraging it can be. I hope everyone who reads this finds the relief they need.

Altra is discontinuing all their wide width shoes. I have a very wide foot and have dealt with Morton's neuroma and plantar fasciitis. Any suggestions for a different brand of wide width zero drop trail runners?

I definitely have a neuroma. I saw it on my ultra sound. What no one in any of these videos addresses is the shooting pain to the tip of the fourth toe. This is the only pain I have. It’s so bad I asked my podiatrist to remove my toe. Why does no one talk about this?
@ProActiveChiro
@ProActiveChiro Жыл бұрын
I'm glad they didn't cut your toe off, there are better solutions out there. Yes, it can cause intense pain at the 3rd and/or 4th toe. I wish you the best in your quest for relief. I hope some of the suggestions are useful.

They do have great shock absorption as long as it isn't too tight on your toe box then they're amazing. You're right though, shoes are def. something worth investing in. They're cheaper than seeing specialists, like me😄. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Squeeze a golf ball between the toes helped me and massage the foot also wearing skechers orthopaedic trainers reccomeded, I've also had acupuncture on the left foot that also helped. I have thickening of the bursa apparently on the right foot now and waiting to be seen, it's just as painful as a nuroma when it plays up. I try to explain to my friends how painful this condition can be. To round things off I now have advanced glaucoma thats now managed, hey ho the tribulations of life, good luck to all.

Are orthotics good if I have a high arch and Morton’s? My podiatrist has me on an otc orthotic by pro step but I feel my foot hurting in places it never hurt before. Even some of my toes hurt that never did before.
@ProActiveChiro
@ProActiveChiro Жыл бұрын
In general my advice is if it’s been a couple weeks and the pain is consistent or worsening I don’t think those OTC options are the right orthotics for you. You may benefit from flexible custom orthotics. It should start to feel good after a bit of time, once your foot adapts, otherwise swap them out for something else. Good luck.

Here in the UK…My dr sent me for ultrasound and from there I was sent for additional x ray. The ultrasound operator said the x ray was essential for my dr to work out my treatment as the ultrasound confirmed Morton’s. Back to my GP who said the x ray was normal. I asked what about the treatment for the Morton’s though? He said it will go away on it’s own - if not we can operate. This is typical I am sorry to say of how general practice is here. So I’ve been doing my own research…hence I am here. I will try the ball along with other crunch exercises. So far, and it’s early days with this, I seem to be getting genuine relief from using a TENS machine. I will try anything the pain is so bad when it strikes. And at the same time as this my GP wants me to walk more 😂

Wow. That’s frustrating that’s the level of compassion and problem solving you’re received. That’s very common in the states as well. I do think these suggestions will help. We also have two other videos on MN to integrate. I hope these help! Regardless don’t give up there is a good solution for you. Are there good sports docs there that have a more proactive approach?

I stubbed my foot and did not realize I broke the toe next to my big toe. Then a Morton’s neuroma developed. I spent a lot of time massaging it on the headboard and eventually it was only numb and not painful. But in the meantime I developed a bunionette. I have to keep it soaked and scrubbed so it is not painful. I figure it is from the neuroma making my foot wider. What should I try next?
@ProActiveChiro
@ProActiveChiro 2 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry you’ve been juggling this cascade of issues. This is a really tough one for KZbin. You could benefit from special imaging to make sure the bone is healed and figure out if the bunion is affected by the Morton’s. Watch the last section of the video and it will talk you through how to find someone holistic and good at problem solving. Best of luck.

I have pain in the toes, numbing and tingling, especially at night. I had bunion surgery about 6-7 years ago and I was told I would be partially numb after that. How do I know if it's that and not MN? My toes, since the surgery, are all smooshed together where the corner of the nails are cutting into the next toe. I can't find comfortable shoes.

Have you tried a natural shaped shoe such as an Altra or Vivobarefoot shoe? It is difficult to know without a through exam but nerves can heal if there is less pressure so I’d say stretch and get your foot ware right and let’s see what happens. We do have another two videos on MN if these are too easy. I’m sorry you are having this after your surgery. That’s no fun.

Hi , I had a MRI done so the doctor said it was metatarsal so he had me get orthics and I don't see any difference but I am going through is when I have my shoes on my sock inside the always feels wrinkle I thought it was . Morton's in a way I feel this doc doesn't know what he is talking about , give me a feedback what you think
@ProActiveChiro
@ProActiveChiro 2 жыл бұрын
It’s difficult to diagnose on KZbin. Did you watch the part of the video that goes over proper treatment by a professional? Did your doctor do any of that? Have you tried a sports ortho, sports chiro, or sports PT? You need someone to do a solid hands on diagnosis because metatarsalgia and Morton’s can be tricky with imaging alone.
@TheWilliamalexander6

Yes I watch the whole video The foot doctor only wanted me to get orthotics but I requested a MRI he didn't do any of those things you said in the video But once he seen the MRI he said I had metatarsal not Morton's in a way I think he is wrong and these orthotics I feel are not doing anything for me I still fill the sock wringleing inside my shoe only when I have shoes on
