Can you please do a video explaining maybe applying sutures without the appropriate medical equipment, with a sewing needle and a simple thread? I am currently in a very unstable region of the world and I suspect that this knowledge might save someone's life one day. Thank you.

Curious how the vertical matress suture would affect blood flow as mentioned in previous sutures? I ask because the matress suture needs to be pulled tighter than others.

Great question! It’s actually more difficult to strangle the skin edge with a properly done Vertical Mattress than it is with Simple Interrupted. The wide nature of the first pass allows for a lot of room for the microvasculature to remain patient, and the very superficial second pass doesn’t span over the top of the skin edge, so it facilitates a good skin eversion without significant strangulation. Note, however, that this is NOT true for Horizontal Mattress.
