Who doesn't love a Spitfire? I couldn't resist this new model from MinimumRC complete with retracts 🙂 It's long because I wanted to show all the steps for a prospective builder👍

A lovely little model. I applaud your ability to build these small ones. I personally find it difficult (and frustrating😅)...shaky hands etc. Interested to see how she flys 😊

The photo-finishing on these little models does add a lot of authenticity to the models, they aren't the only manufacturer of course. The small size of some of the components does cause me to sometimes 'leave the table' lol, cheers Miike

Thanks for that in-depth build video; the finished product looked much better than any factory-built micro foamy I have. It will be a while before there is one in my hangar, though, dealing with too much too soon syndrome.

Very interesting, Cliff, as well as informative. I struggle with smaller models in both the building and (more so) the flying but I'm still tempted. Retracts are always a pain and the vast majority of my models have fixed undercarriages. I think I would be tempted to use this for take-off and belly land to avoid damage. Are these models only available from the USA as the link implies or is there a UK stockist?

@CliffHarveyRCPlanes2 ай бұрын
@@dion2265In that case I think I would clean the shaft (to provide a key) with a fine file. Then I would clean the hole in the propeller with a small drill bit no bigger in diameter than the hole. This would give you the best chance for the ca to stick. It would be a good idea to also use an activator to help the ca to cure quickly. Hopefully that'll do it 🤔

Just built one and tried my first flight and it was really nose heavy and would not stay level and went about 10 feet and crashed. So disappointing for first time RC build and flight

Hi Dion, sorry to hear about your experience, did you check the centre of gravity before you tried and do you have previous RC experience?
@dion22658 ай бұрын
@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes No previous RC Experience. I will have to check the centre of gravity. It seems very nose heavy. How do I fix the balance?
@CliffHarveyRCPlanes8 ай бұрын
Hi Dion, the last page of the instructions tell you to check the cg is on the score line of the wing, you can add a little blue tac or similar to the tail end if yours is nose heavy. I must say though that this model really isn't suitable for a first time flyer, you need something much much slower. I always advise people to join a local club, or at the very least, have some time on a simulator.
