Quick Tipp from another Miner: You can go to the "Contacts" Panel and select Fragments that contain worthless sideproducts like Gallite, Indie, Bertrandite etc. . Click on the Fragment, select the junk and press "ignore "..." ". Your Refinery will then automatically eject the Junk and it wont fill up your Cargo hold.

A few things should be modified. First, forget the lance. You want to be close in mining not far (at least until 3.3 drops then things could change). Your limpets have to travel too far and you waste time. Second the mining lance is garbage for mining. If you use two class 2 mining lasers and stay on the rock you only need 6 limpets to collect everything effectively. Next, you need a fuel scoop (replace one of your limpet collectors with a grade 6) unless you are planing on mining in the same system and you are also selling in that system. Lastly, you have more than enough shield, but you have no hatch breaking defense, replace the shield booster closest to your cargo hatch with point defense (ditch one of your HD deep plating) . This will kill any hatch breakers.

This seems like quite a wasteful build to me. Mining lances are, at best, no better at mining than class one mining lasers, and those are known to be pretty inefficient. For the power draw (of a normal class one, lances us a lot more power) they just don't mine very fast, the upgrade to medium size is a significant upgrade in performance. Limiting yourself to two class ones in a Cutter is such a waste. The reason you think that you're making full use of your 9 limpets is that you're mining so far away from the asteroid, it takes far longer for them to make the round trip. Fewer limpets could easily handle the load if you approached close to the rock. For comparison I mine with four medium mining lasers. I don't remember how many limpets, likely between 7-9. And when I set them to ignore low value ore like gallite and betrandite, they can sometimes keep up, depending upon the rock composition. And that's not just mining twice as fast as your build, it looks like it's more than four times as fast. I can't say enough how significant the upgrade to medium lasers is. Let me put it this way, you had to edit past the mining process because of how long it takes. I could have drained an entire rock in the time it took you to explain what you were doing. Your process of using the lances to prospect is pretty inefficient too. One chunk only tells you some of what's in the rock. You're relying on random chance to show you the good stuff. This is especially true when you ignored the asteroid that gave you iron. A material like iron is not indicative of the ore content of the asteroid at all, you at least should have waited for a second chunk. You had no idea what was in it, it might have been more painite for all you knew. As to the focus on combat, that's only really worthwhile if you plan to mine exclusively in res zones for the bonus they provide. Outside of that you almost never encounter pirates, just one or two when you first zone into the area and if you let them scan you they'll leave and you'll be alone for the entire mining session. I use a Python, and because it's optimized to mine instead of being a jack of all trades it's probably at least as capable as this ship if not moreso, despite how much less module space I have.

That range got me too, effective and speedy mining means kissing the rocks almost that your limpets don't smash but are still constantly docked.

How do u get so much shield strenght according to coriolis? I got nearly the same shield setup and get only 10k+ absolute shield absorb. Yours is 14k+. I also use a 8A Prismatic Shield generator and as for the 2 thermal resistent shieldboosters only heavy duty.

Tom Undso in the past Coriolis showed wrong values unless you redid the engineering on the boosters. Maybe that's still the case that they calculate 300%
