I worked at GRANDUC Mines in the early 1970's where they have a 800 man mining camp at Tide Lake - was a copper mine around 7000 tons a day . In the 1960's an avalance came down and took out Leduc a mining camp . Average snow fall at Tide Lake was 700" lots of time 4' of snow over night . This mine is now closed !

My family moved to Stewart in 1954. Myself and two sisters were born there. We left in 1963.

Great video Robert. I was just up in the region shooting video and photos for Rokstad Power who are building the transmission line to Brucejack. I picked up your dad's book about prospectors in the region and read it on my way home. What a great bunch of tales! It was the perfect antidote to having to leave those incredible mountains once again...

Moved to Stewart in '74 and left in '76, grades 6 and 7. Moved from Victoria travelling on the Northland Princess with my family. Will return someday to see it again., it's in my blood.
