I just started building a 620 over on my channel. Just picked up an s13 subframe that i intend to put into the truck but I definitely have not taken on anything of this caliber. this was some great info, thank you!

Looking good man! I’m a little further behind than you are, but getting there. We have to link up one day when they are finished. Keep up the good work.

Definitely appreciate everything about this video and series.
Awesome videos man. I love how thorough you are explaining everything. Keep making videos on the Hardbody man, super cool project! I have a 2jz in my garage and an e46 subframe I've debated throwing in mine.

Yeah thanks man! I just wish I could make them faster.

Your videos are top quality dude. I have a S14 and recently bought a Datsun 620 with the goals to do a S chassis IRS setup, so this helps out a TON. What made you decide to not stick with stock rear section of the frame? It looks like it would have worked out pretty good just making brackets for the subframe mounts. Was is mostly to mount the fuel cell? That being said, the setup you went with is fantastic, more curious than anything.

Lol I ask myself the same question all the time. Pretty much just because I wanted to try making the notched out frame rails to see how they would work. If you get to a few of my D21JZ videos you'll see I had the engine and trans all setup and was going to run the truck front suspension to get her going.....nope let's cut the whole front end off and use something else 😂😕😑🤦

Wow that's low for ride-height. maybe its just the camera angle. How did you decide on ride height? Mock it up with all the sheet metal + wheels , or just put the cab x inches off the ground? How did you figure out the vertical position to weld the rear susp to the frame? Just jack rear up so the control arms are more or less parallel to the floor ... or pumpkin x inches off the ground ? Ambitious build!
@Otto_Factory5 жыл бұрын
4" is the bottom of the frame to the ground. That's actually not too bad. Since the cab is going to be body dropped the rockers will be level with the bottom of the frame. As for the suspension, I setup the rear subframe to where it would sit pretty close to the factory ride height. That way I don't have to play with trying to correct suspension geometry because the arms are so jacked because the cars too low.

@@Otto_Factory you set the rear subframe at the 240 factory ride height or the truck factory ride height?

@@H00K-KING the 240 ride height, but it can be shimmed down if need be.

@@Otto_Factory do you happen to know what that is? I’m trying to figure out how to mount s13 front and rear suspension in my ‘74 duster. I’ve already built a tube front end and back half so now it’s just a matter of mounting them.

@@Otto_Factory correct me if I’m wrong, but I would want to have both subframes completely level and at the 240 ride height right?

Great project. But before doing such a project. One should know the proper terminology. Front to rear is wheel base. Side to side is wheel TRACK WIDTH.
