Sam Wood has the best videos on KZbin as far as Creek trapping. He's absolutely spot on. My best season on Mink was in 05-06. I caught 102 that season. Our area of the country has 2 Mink per sq mile. These sets he's showing you is how you do it.

hey man extremely helpful videos. im new to water trapping so i was looking for some good insight and i found it right here. Ive found that theres a lot of guys that give bad information on youtube and teach really bad habbits. I realize that not everything is as important as i may think it to to be but if your gonna teach someone, teach them right and then let them get into their own bad habbits. anyone thanks again for the great video

@nitroexpress700 get a small presure cooker to cook squirrels in.. You won't be disappointed they come out SO TENDER... after you cook them once like this you will be swerving to hit the little buggers with the car just for the meat...

awessome video. mink are my favorite! always had a goal of 100 but never quite got there. i love gangsetting, when you said 4 or 5 i was thinking 8 or 9 minimum lol. always enjoy your videos. ever use "barricade" sets? we do very well with them in the water for rats, mink and beaver..

the mink are swimming at bottom of the water? don't they come up for air eventually? what if the water level is higher how would you set bottom edge?

You should spray paint your boxes camo to cut down on stealing. You can mark the locations with a cheap gps unit or even a smart phone. I do that and I haven't had one stolen since.

when is the best time to trap muskrats and beaver? in early march after the ice clears from the ponds and streams? or mid nov to mid dec before they start freezing all the time? or run them from nov to march but take out during the big snow melts so they dont get washed away?

what type of 110 coni r u using i hav duke and 150briger's would 150 work on bottom set 2 plz comment and plz mak more vid i hav watch a few time over and over i hav caugth muskrat but not 2 many and never a mink we dont hav 2 many of them we hav alot of rock's in the ozark's mt in lower mo state

I notice that the 120 jaws don't fit inside the box like the traditional box with slots for the springs . I' m afraid the jaws would hit the box when it fires and not make an accurate hit on the mink. It seams to work for you, ......is that ok ?

great video, but would a colony trap work for a replacement for that bottom edge set? the animals would just follow the edge right into the colony trap right? then you get multiple catches from one set.

Sam I've been looking at those boxes----I'm assuming you use the same box for Mink and later Weasel just turn the box around add a front with a hole and your ready to go. I will give this a try Thanx.

This is my very first year trapping and Ive never met anyone that traps and have ZERO knowledge or experience at this at all.What Ive learned has been from the internet and trappers digest. Im only going for mink and muskrat on a farm its never been trapped or hunted over 1000 yards of streams at the widest they might be 10' depths of 2 ".I know they are their Ive seen both of them all the time. What type of traps and sizes should I be using,what type of bait? Thank you. I like your vids

Do you use drowners for you legholds or do you just wire them off. Is a 1.5 coilspring heavy enough to drown a mink with a drowning bracket?

It's not impossible. If there are plenty of animals in the area and the trap is set well you can catch a good number of mink (or any animal, really) in one set.
