This is another great story. I always thought I would to write my own adoption story. Kept all the notes binders efforts to find my mom . And diaries before I found her to later share with her when I did find her. I am not a writer. We had a good 38 years together after I found her. She passed in 2020.

Attention spoiler: Good book! But you can find some mistakes here and there. I don’t know why Chuck would be so rude to the girls when he found them, he clearly wanted them to be afraid of him. Nikki forgetting that she had a baby? Seriously? For 9 years? The girls age also doesn’t make sense, too old. Sage clearly has some kind of mental disorder because she acts like a little girl. Nikki’s best friend was supposed to get in in the first flight once they hung up the phone, that was when Brant left to his work trip, but she was never mentioned again until the end when after 6 months they go visit her in Miami? … overall great book.
@lolyband3 ай бұрын
Same I was waiting for the friend to show up it could if been a great side character helping the girls with Nick to get adjusted to the new world. I would add that I expected the girls to find out that they are younger than what thier MaMa told them maybe 15 or 16 years old.
@donamaria13293 ай бұрын
@@lolyband yes! I’d say like 10/12 years old the most! And the friend should have come! The book could have been more sophisticated in the details like that

What is the purpose of adding a time to the comments? Is it like a bookmark to yourself or like a suggestion for others to listen?
@palominogirl27325 ай бұрын
I don't know, the book could have more details. I'm almost three hours in, and, come on, she doesn't know what a cigarette is? In all the books she's read, no one smoked? Little House on the Prairie - Pa has a pipe, etc. They are eating their 'favorite' goat, but it doesn't have a name? And why is this 'strange man' still there after a couple days when he knows the mother isn't coming back?
@lme20895 ай бұрын
I'm pretty nitpicky but that stuff didn't bother me so much. Had he been smoking a pipe she would have known what it was probably.
@lme20895 ай бұрын
Some things were pretty far fetched but i liked the story enough to not actually care. I was a little thrown off with how quickly they made it out of the woods *SPOILER ALERT* you know who said he almost didn't make it out alive and it took him days.
@freckledskyart4 ай бұрын
I can’t believe i listened to the whole thing. It was a sweet story but it absolutely should not be labeled a thriller. I don’t mean to be too critical as I’m sure those who like sweet stories with happy endings would love this book. I’m just a fan of horror and actual thrillers. Again, it was a lovely, pull at the heart strings book, just not at all my scene
@DoolieDoo12 ай бұрын
I wouldn't consider it a thriller either. It's a mystery.
