Minn Kota Trolling Motor Electronic Fix in 5 Minutes!

This is an overview on how to swap out the electronics on a Minn Kota Endura Max 55. This is an easy fix for any user.
I have created this page to share information with the hopes of helping you become a better fisherman and catch more fish. I do this with the heart of a teacher in mind while trying to make it simple and fun for anyone!

I got it from Minn Kota, but I had to call them because the item number has changed.

I have the same motor, when I put mine in reverse it won’t consistently stay in the high gear. It basically goes at the speed of 2nd reverse then all of a sudden it will click into high & go faster. Then next time I click into high it will do the same. That happen to be your issue?

My e drive throttle control doesn't get power but everything else on the boat does including my radio. It stopped working mid drive. I replaced the fuses and batteries but to no prevail. Would this solution fix my problem as well?

See if water got in the lower unit of the trolling motor...start there.

my mini kota traxxis 55lbs is having issues, its only 2 years old and the motor will just stop working, i took the head off played with some wires got it working for a few minutes, but when i go to put the cap back on it stops working..... WHAT IS GOING ON lol

Have you taken apart the lower unit housing? Look for water down there.

This was my issue...check the lower housing area...it may have burned up.

I would also do an inspection of the lower unit in addition to the head. I have had corrosion build up and be in issue in the past.

How did you determine that you needed that Head Unit? How did you troublshoot this? I wanna be sure its that before I order the part? And was it not covered under warranty?

The unit did not even run. Had a full charge on the battery and was completely dead.

You real did not had to change the head out only thing you needed to change out was the three motors on the top of the head bro you just made more work for your self.

that piece that was replaced is sold as s single unit. You cant replace the "three motors" as they are molded into the unit.

When making a video please mention the actual motor unit you have as all Minn Kota units are not the same. My Endurance C2 50lb thrust is completely different. Just an fyi.
