I bought this motor for my 10 ft Pond Prowler. It works well on calm days but if there's a current or wind, forget it. I'm up grading and getting the 45 or 55lb thrust

Two years later this motor is going strong kzbin.infoUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite

I own two Minn Kota trolling motors and have owned several other Minn Kota over the years. The biggest problem I have found is that their circuitry is undersized, and the wiring gets hot on the high setting as well as the heads and circuit boards which causes early failure.

i think the circuit board problem is related to the people use starting battery and not a deep cycle battery not a good idea I`m running mine on Li-ion phosphate battery those batteries came down a lot in price i only paid $2OO for mine

@nwmi4932 жыл бұрын
sadly the brand new endura 30 i just opened and ran last night for the first time, vibrates and rattles between 3-5. sounds smooth out of the water, prop tight etc.. thinking its coming from the transom bracket and the shaft bushing Assembly.
@BlackBirdWhiteFish2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. The 3 -5 speeds are really useful. If it keeps happening I hope you can get a free replacement. Good luck to you!
@noyopacific2 жыл бұрын
Mine will vibrate when the prop is unbalanced. This has been from weeds, fishing line wrapped around the shaft and from dings in the prop. Solutions: clear any weeds. Remove the prop and cut off any fishing line and remove any rough spots with a file (unless it’s really mangled in which case you’ll need a new prop.)

@adamrahn91803 жыл бұрын
3-4 mph.
@BlackBirdWhiteFish3 жыл бұрын
Not fast- it’s about walking speed. But depends on the boat and how much weight is in the boat. If you’re looking for speed get something bigger.

@@BlackBirdWhiteFish How much thrust do you recommend for a 14ft lund boat? Im looking into getting a trolling motor but don’t want to buy something that can’t pull my boat
@BlackBirdWhiteFish3 жыл бұрын
I’d estimated the top speed I got the boat in the video was 3 - 4 mph loaded with me and my 2 small kids (+/- 290 lbs). Good enough to fish behind the boat, but not fast enough if you’re in a hurry to get somewhere.
@BlackBirdWhiteFish3 жыл бұрын
@@theomanto7236 not sure what you’re looking for, but 30 lb would be slow (like a walking pace). But that may be fast enough. If you aren’t sure & can afford it, buy a stronger motor- you can still go slow, but you can go faster if you want.
@fredericoolivari59843 жыл бұрын
how long i takes to drain battery pls
@BlackBirdWhiteFish3 жыл бұрын
The small battery I used drained in just under an hour. It was too small. I recommend a full size battery similar to a car battery size, but it should be a deep cycle.

Can you please tell the name of battery and its specs and how many hour works?
@BlackBirdWhiteFish3 жыл бұрын
The battery I used was too small & I don’t recommend it. It would not even last 60 minutes before it gave out. I recommend you go to an auto supply store and get a big deep cell rechargeable battery. You’ll also need a battery charger. I hope this helps.

So you really don't need a deep cycle marine battery to run a Minn Kota C2 30# . I'd like to buy the lightest , least expensive battery to move my 6'8 plastic, one man, "bass hunter type" boat and maybe run a small Depth Finder. I was told I need a deep cycle battery, but if I can get by with a lighter, smaller battery that would be great.
@jeff9062 Жыл бұрын
A deep cycle battery is designed to put out 12v through it's charge range, a start battery is not regulated in this way. In other words, if you don't have a alternator supplying you with constant voltage and you are running electronics that need a steady 12 volts. Use a deep cycle battery.
