It's interesting that in 1868 there was open water on the 12 of April on lake Minnetonka for fishing.. then same time of year in 1869 they were crossing the frozen rivers.

1870 Minneapolis would have been considered to be located in eastern or central Minnesota. Southeastern Minnesota, both then and now, is comprised of the counties south and east of Dakota County.

If you've gone to the trouble of captioning photos with news print segments, read fully the reference segments -- better conveys the composition of the day -- the "bricks", if you will.

The Twins has the *Worst Weather in the US!* Unless you [like it] Cold; 40° or colder 7 months out of the year. As well as Humid, sticky & 85°+ June 10th through the first week of September. > _April 27th 2022_ its 28° outside, an ITS ALMOST MAY !!!
