Minneapolis open homeless shelter, transitional housing for those in need

Minneapolis officials are breaking ground on a new homeless shelter and transitional housing project in continued efforts to fight homelessness in the Twin Cities.

Homelessness is more a lack of family and support rather than the lack of a home. That statement comes from working 14 years at a homeless shelter. Most people would not sleep in the streets tonight if their house burned down today.

Change housing rules. Make rent 30 percent of minimum workers wage. Only 1st and last month rent to get into apt. Month to month rentals. No more overpriced rentals.
