Very cool! Glad to find someone else who is into this. I have a time lapse of a trip from Columbus, Ohio to Mt. Vernon, Ohio. It was shot using a Super 8 film camera, firing a frame every second. Once i get it transfered to digital i'll post it on KZbin. You've inspired me to do more! Thanks for posting!

Minneapolis is a wonderful city despite the extreme weather. The city itself isn't too large and there are many neibrhoods in Minneapolis proper that have both an urban and a suburban feel...especially around Lake Harriet. I use to live in Minneapolis..I still have family who lives there. great clean city with friendly people.

Very nice video! I love Minneapolis! Unfortunately, I haven't ever lived in any other metropolitan areas, so I can't really compare it to anywhere. I've visited other cities, just not for anything longer than 2 weeks.

man, i love this tour and i could follow the video since i drove taxi in the minneaple from '82-'90; i've been on this tour and these roads hundreds of times and never got lost, whoopee. i went over the 35w bridge hundreds of times; then it collapsed, but i was out of town.

I saw that! (3:34) Unless you were driving a taxi or an emergency vehicle,you made an illegal left turn onto 2nd Avenue. I noticed a slight panic a block later when there were three lanes of traffic oncoming - Good thing they had that restricted lane there for you. Great video.

When they turn from University onto Oak to get over to Washington, there is a ton of construction. That has only been going on for a little over a month (ie this video is relatively new).

yes that is a horrible inccident. i dont know how many times ive taken that bridge. im about 3 miles away from there in Roseville. im glad minnesota (minneapolis) is able to stay strong and show how much we care by helping out anyway we can!

Holy crap, what a tragic nightmare on 35W.:{ Nice video. Lived in Mpls years ago, but the Lake st. sequence took me right back to the days of riding the bus through those stop lights. I think you went past where I used to work at E. Lake and 29th, next to a bar called the Poodle. & I miss Uptown. Should you ever rework it, maybe editing down the wait at the stoplights along Lake st. might give that part a bit more flow and pop? Great stuff, nonetheless.:]

Is this timelapse, or just sped-up? If actually timelapse, what was the camera you used? I have a Sony, but it only does like "2 seconds every 30 seconds," when 1 frame every second would be useful. Since this a tape-based cam, that would be probably be hell on it.

Lol!!! An interesting approach making this a response for the brilliant Karen Spricket's booty video!!! It does makes sense though - hers is Minneapolis themed too! (those hotpants certainly are) and 20000 hits in two days recieved on hers could be a flow on to this - and vids responding for this one!!! Anyway I like this vid, esp with how the cityscape rapidly changes - I'll be doing similar ones where I am again soon...
