As an Italian, I swear that I never heard an English or American actress able to reproduce a perfect Italian accent like Minnie Driver. Most of the actresses who plaies Carlotta on stage in London or Broadway had a slight English or American accent when they were speaking Italian, while Minnie’s Italian is perfect.

One of the things I didn’t like in the Movie was how they implied Carlotta is a terrible singer and everyone just wants to get rid of her…the Phantom does because he wants Christine to take her place, But I don’t think Carlotta would have gotten to where she was in the Opera World if she had been a bad singer…I’ve just always felt what people don’t like about her is her showboating, she overdoes it to try and compensate for the fact that she knows she’s getting older and knows her time as the Prima Donna is short.

watching minnie in good will hunting and then the phantom of the opera is such an experience. i wish she was in many more stuff.

I mean, she's having the most fun of anyone in this terrible movie. At the very least, she's aware of the fact that she's in a Joel Schumacher.
