@@souldesire5932 I never cease to be amazed by the fact that people are on the Internet, but don't bother to check out whether what they're saying is actually true, and even when they're told what they're saying is wrong, they will STILL stubbornly stick to their story. I don't mean to be political - I'm not American and I don't live there - but to me, as an external observer, this was possibly the most damaging long term aspect of Donald Trump's Presidency; that he taught people to just double down and stick to a lie - or whatever falsehood they are claiming - and just label reality "fake news" and "alternate facts". Everyone is entitled to their opinion - they always have been - but nowadays people mistakenly believe that makes their opinion valid, and that all opinions are equal, when they obviously aren't. You are entitled to believe that white is black, or that 1 + 2 = 5, but neither of those opinions it valid, or equal, and both of them are wrong; demonstrably so. It's just bizarre to me that we all walk around with a computer in our pockets which can instantly access most of human knowledge - something which you would think would have taken us to a new level - but instead there are people who are more ignorant than ever walking around...

@@Harvard_of_the_Sky Yes, I agree that Minnie handled the interview very well -- I wish I had half her public speaking skills. I also think that her father was inspired in that moment at the Oscar's to tell her she wouldn't win, so that the could compose herself in front of the cameras. As she described the atmosphere at the event, a cameraman was pretty much in her face waiting for a reaction, preferably a dramatic one. So she didn't give him that satisfaction. :)

@Minnie Driver - I watch Good Will Hunting often and I do so because as a man, an older man now and at one time, a much younger man, I see a lot of myself in Will Hunting who has experienced first hand, more than once, the tears of women who were deeply in love with me. Turning your back on your life and walking away to avoid the fear of hurt, pain, abandonment is a very real defense mechanism. It took me a long time to understand this about myself. Watching Good Will Hunting is therapy for me, maybe, I am not exactly sure why I come back to this movie year after year, but I do. Maybe it's a window into the lives I could have maybe possibly had, had I had the proper love, support and guidance of both parents, of which I did not. I have always been in love with the thought of being Will Hunting, being taught that family services protection, foster homes and children's homes were "not my fault" and then finding the courage not to run away but instead chase after the women who loved me, and to love them back. It's very painful for me now in that, I am older now, declining heath and no one is interested in love with me. I don't think this is really true but it's a real enough of a feeling in that, it makes me sad. When I watch Good Will Hunting, I see the way Minnie Driver looks at Will, both the love she has and her tears caused by his rejection, and it's in this very brief moment that I can forget who I am and instead pretend to chase after Minnie Driver and give myself the 2nd chance my own personal prison would never allow.

The desire to love another is a spiritual thing.Whether you are loved back is problematic. Women today have a very materialistic pathos that is not a very comforting place for a man to be.Worse yet is their desire to be with you,if you have any resemblance of financial security just long enough to get a piece of your action. I have found this has only intensified my relationship to GOD.Men cry buckets of tears because of unrequited love for a woman, but who cries out for GODS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.?

@Dylan Larson Sean was in a phase of suicidal depression which was the footnote to how this angel of mercy came into his life, getting him to focus on something other than the pain he felt by seeing his buddies dying in an unjust war. He was obviously a gifted young man who started out as a promising mathematical wiz,but was drawn into being a therapist after his Vientnam years. My father who was a 20 year army nco, also was a medic during the Korean War, likewise put down his rifle & became a male army nurse. His night terrors did not stop, but his was a journey of growth through empathy, as well.
