This lyre is an interpretation of the iconography of the The sarcophagus of Aghia Triada
(Heraklion Archaeological Museum) - We know nothing about the music of the Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations but
the music was probably associated with religious rites.
Swan-shaped lyres are present in the world of Greek and Egyptian antiquity.

There is a real authenticity about your playing in your modal tuning ... may well resemble something quite ancient. I have wondered often about what the Minoans heard. I think you have it. ... Bravo! Hello. I think I was using a Turkish mode. Based on the modern Phrygian with a small modification. Something like E F G# A B C D should do the trick 😎

Hello ! It's just improvisation and exploration of the instrument. I try to use as many different techniques as possible. I like watching ancient iconographies but also modern day ethnic lyre players (mostly from modern Africa where lyre traditions seem to be well preserved.) So I did not really "learn" this technique, it's more like discovering or rediscovering different techniques ;) Cheers

Yes. The very first notes of the epitaph are played. But the epitaph melody is indeed in another mode
