Really super fantastic lesson. It helped train my vocal folds and helped smooth out some glottal attacks. Side note: the cadence of the notes really stirred my soul! Thanks Jeff. (I’m also learning vocabulary from watching your videos. 😎😊) you rock!

Great exercise. The D min pentatnoic over I and V is the basic idea of Elton Johns 'Tiny Dancer'. The D (on C Maj) and G (onF Maj) from the minor pentatonic provide the SUS 2 suspensions.

Hey Jeff, I’ve been listening to your channel for about 5 or so years now! Do you think you could do a vocal workout for a baritenor? When I do your baritone I find it doesn’t go high enough and when I do your tenor I find it doesn’t go low enough. If not, would you recommend I choose one over the other in the meantime?

Hello! Thank you for being here for all that time and thank you for subscribing! I started doing baritenor warm ups awhile ago, here's a playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PL2mQP7sE6PHjOKQwZ3t8dydsKUyAukFWZ

Yesterday I was recording vocals. There where several takes where live it would have sounded -pretty good. But in the words of Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) " what you're playing back to me is NOT what I sung to you out side that booth" Specifically, for the sake of the question. The word "Why" (as one example of many) Often as I get caught up in singing phrases back to back. The - W - will come just under the note. But the -hy- will be on key. I find myself tuning the W up a tick with pitch drift adjuster. As a recording artist yourself have you ran into this and how did you rehearse? ( I often improv write melody in the booth as well). - Thanks JEFF

I HAVE NO IDEA why this did strike through hahaha

All the time! When you notice that, and practice the phrases, imagine putting the starting consonants on the pitch that the vowel sound that comes after them is on. Usually does the trick. Thank you!!!

Well, this is fun. It never fails to amaze me that the same 12 notes, produce very different scales when ordered in the different keys or modes. Not clear to me why they should but they do.The whole scale is greater than the sum of its parts sort of thing. I have a question about technique in performance. Does, or should, technique change when you use a mike or amplified sound? I have read of aging classical singers who could no longer sing on stage but prolonged careers with good mike technique. What do you think that means? Does one sing differently with a mike than without? Do most of our current pop and broadway , folk and so on artists sound pretty much the same without amplification? Other than volume, I mean. I really liked this video.

Hello David! Thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! What an awesome question! We could talk for days about mic technique, but I'll condense it as much as I can in Questions from Comments 46! Thank you!
