I love my GR86, but all those things are so damn true. Another thing about the door locks that pisses me off: when the door is locked and you are inside the car, pulling on the handle doesn't automatically unlock the door. You manually have to unlock the door to open it. Also, there is no auto lock on the doors when you start driving. Finally, a gas cap that locks with your doors? Took me a few minutes to figure out that i had to unlock my car to open the stupid little fuel door. Talk about looking like a frickin idiot 😂

I've been driving this car since April 2022, never once accidenttally opened the center console. For the passenger door lock. there is an option for it to automatically be unlocked when you open the driver door so this might help. For the keyfab, which is a Subaru one, height seems to be an issue: I can reach it from my 2nd floor appartment but not only 3 feet behind the car on a slight downhilll slope.

I’m around the same height and I fit fine. I have the seat almost as far back as it goes for leg room and the pedals are decently far back no matter how far back you have the seat unless you have it set up to where the steering wheel is breaching your chest cavity. As far as head room there is about 1.5 to 2 inches from my head to the roof. It would just be a tight fit if you were to wear a helmet while tracking it but it’s doable.

another 6’4 homie here, it surprisingly has enough room to work with, more comfortable than I expected it to be. The only thing I have to say is that getting in and out is funny as hell for tall people, but you get used to it after a few times

I’ve had the car for 1.5 years and experienced no issues with RTV. As far as performance is concerned the car has been flawless since I picked it up from the dealer.

btw I think there's a setting in the infotainment system so you can do the passenger side unlock, by default it's set to "Driver door only" :D

I think if you beeep the keyfob 3x it makes the passenger side unlock everytime you unlock the driver side with keyless entry. At least thats how I think I did it on the previous Gen lol

the key fob and all that stuff is actually all subaru. Toyota just put their badges on it. Thats why it looks identical to all other subaru keys, just how these cars use subaru engines and are made at subaru's plant in japan.

Great video. Here are 3 more that drive me nuts: 1) Doors don't auto-lock when you start driving. Why? 2) When the doors are locked, you have to manually unlock them to open the door. Just pulling the handle won't unlock it. Why? 3) That turn signal.... The center console is the big one though. Every drive I have that thing pops open. But I love the car. Great video bro, do more.

Chill, hold the door up with the right hand while you get out. I do that on my 97 Mustang with a heavy door. Put the left hand down on the cat sill and get out. I am 58 and can do it (reasonable) gracefully. Takes some practise, but you get the hang of it. Not sure about the key fob, maybe the battery is weak, have you try a new one? Isn't there an unlock button for the doors? Pickup headlights are a nuisance for sure. Everyone in a normal cars suffers from them, even people with more up right cars, they complain as well. Make more videos, from all I seen online, you have a nice car, though I have not tried one myself.

I also want a supra. But real talk I tested a Supra and it wasn't as fun of a drive as the 86. Also f that seatbelt dinging. I can't drive to the mailbox without wearing my seatbelt, or I can't hear myself think.

I bought a Camry last night but test drove the 6 speed manual GR86 and loved it. The main reason I went with the Camry is because I live in New England and our winters suck ass so I wanted an AWD. I’m surprised you went with silver though, I much prefer the black and dark blue colors on that car.
